Hey, Townslc, I am on the gastric sleeve Pre Op - Diet too. I know my Dr. office clarified every thing if I didnt understand. I have am trying to not drink 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after a meal.
Word for the wise many doctors are different about what they want you to have to your Pre- Op die.
I do time my self when I eat or Drink my Protien shakes, I do drink them slow. There are lots of resources on line for Pre-Op.
I started weighting 286 lbs now I am between 260-265 lbs. I am scheduled for surgery Oct 24, 2011.
I am have Gastric Sleeve too...... My family is excited for me that I will be healthier by next year....

Hi Lyn: I'm sleeved on the oct 3rd also...
Can't wait! Of course, I need to start on no/low fat tomorrow...gotta be pretty darned organized from now on. I did mix some chocoate whey powder with my starbucks non-fat decaff. late - tasted okay.

Hey, Townsic: I'm on the 3rd! (sleeve). You ought to contact your surgeon for specific instructions. Mine wants to shrink my liver so that he can 'see' my stomach better...this is an important thing to do. The method is to eat almost no fat and that shrinks the liver. The way to do this is to have whey protein powder drinks but make sure the powder doesn't contain alot of added fat/sugar. Also, it's a good chance to get used to the routine of drinking 3 oz. at a time, what you'll probably tolerate after surgery. My nurse said to get ten 3 oz. dixie cups and once you've drank those, you're done. You will also go to liquid the day or two before. And do some laxitive thingy the day before...sounds fun, eh? try to picture all the cute fashion you'll wear as you drink the stuff.

I am scheduled for the Sleeve on 10/6/2011 and my surgeon has it were you have to do the 6 days before liquid diet.. I am so confused about were to start with what to buy and try so that I am not tempted.. Can someone please tell me where to start, what is good things to try so that i dont get bored. I am so excited for you.. I am scheduled to have my surgery on 10/6/11 and I am super nervous and excited. I dont know how to prepare for the Pre-Surgery Diet so that I dont mess up.. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope that you have much sucess.. Stay in touch..
