I'm glad to hear things went well with your surgery on the 15th. I had mine on the 13th and the bloating/gas was horrible. It started to subside on Friday, but what I found has been working for me is to sleep on my sides at night. It seems to help relieve the pressure in my mid-section. I'm not bloated too much anymore, but I do get a "full" feeling in my mid-section towards the end of the day, but I think that could be from all the protein.

I haven't tried any over the counter medications, but I have heard the disolvable gas-x strips work wonders.

We're finally on the losers bench.........best of luck to you! :)

Hello everyone,
Well I DID IT! Thank GOD its over! I had my surgery the 13th! I was having some trouble with the upper GI after surgery swallowing the bariam liquid was just god awful and they were having trouble reading the slide so I had to stay an extra day but everything came back okay. I came home on Friday, slept like a baby, and then on Saturday had a really bad day. I just could not get enough fluids in I started to feel really sick, I was sweating and extremely weak. My sister had to call 911 so I could be taken to the hospital.
They gave me an IV and filled me up with fluids, had a cat scan, and everything came back normal. They think I am constipated because I have hadnt had a bowel movement in a week now. I tried milk of magnesia, pruinds, and a fleet enema. I felt little relief from, the fleet enema and have a DRs appt tomorrow. Other than that I am feeling much better. They took my JP tube out at the ER and most of the pain is still gone.
I am still taking the pain medication..I don tknow how people dont. Hows everyone else? Im already down 15lbs!

Hi my name is SuzeAnne and I'm in Tampa.  Will have my surgery Oct 28 and it will be done by Dr. Murr at Tampa General Hospital.  I hope and pray it will be OK and I'll be happy as can be.  I am very anxious about it and I seem to be eating everything in site....that's weird.  I have trouble sleeping hoping that everything will go smooth from here to there.... Enough about me....hope all is well with you and hope that everything will be as you wished it would be...Good luck with your journey and may God bless you.   Have a great day!

I'm on the 27th too.  I'm looking foreward to taking the time off work.  With all the pre-op appts and tests, I'm exhausted.
