Hello! I'm another Oct. 27th kiddo, too! I'm having the lap-band done that day. After all the work to get to this point, I'll be glad to finally get it done. I'm a bit nervous, and it's a huge change, but I know this will very likely eliminate my high blood pressure and cholesterol problems, will keep me from getting diabetes for a much longer time and maybe forever, will take a lot of pain and pressure off my knee, and will let me re-join my family in so many of the physical activities that I have a lot of trouble doing right now. I'm looking forward to just being able to play frisbee and take the dog for a long walk, take a bike ride, and not be exhausted at the end of a work day, among other things. :)

Hi I am new here and not sure how to navigate to well. My surgery date is 10/30 as well. Having a Lap - RNY. I am very anxious. I just have so many emotions happy, nervous, excited, scared. I too have gained a lot of weight in the past year. I looked at my medical records a few weeks ago and was shocked that I had gained over 50 lbs. in less than a year. For the past 3 months I have been wearing clothing that only has an elastic waist. I have clothes in my closet that I only wore a few times on our trip to California in the summer of 2008. They just kept getting tighter and I refused to buy a bigger size. I can not wait to fit into them again - comfortably. I am looking forward to shopping with my mom in the regular sections of the stores. Good Luck!!

My surgery is having to be reschedueled so wont have it on the 20th as planned, but just checking in to see how everyone elses surgery went............

Hi everyone,
I am so happy to find this website. I'm having lap band surgery on Friday, Oct. 23. I'm very excited to have it done and really can't wait to feel better. I have struggled with weight loss for most of my life. I also had open heart surgery in 2001 to repair and Aortic Aneurysm, which I will need to have it done again in a few years. Another reason why I have to get this done. It will hopefully proglong the time I need the surgery again. Plus my cardiologist said that if I don't get serious I could risk the chance of dieing on the table and also infection afterwards. I am only 42 and I don't want to die. I have 2 teenage boys and a husband I am not ready to leave behind.
I have been on my presurgical diet for 1 1/2 weeks. I did cheat a few times with a peice of lunch meat ham and cheese. I have been trying to be faithful. I have to say I HATE the diet. It's killing me but I will stick with it. Only 3 days to go and I can't wait.
I am looking for lots of support.
