Good luck. My date was originally the 23rd as well but I changed it to the 30th so I could go on a field trip with my son on th 29th. I have four kids 9,7,4,and 23 months. Plus a husband. I was worried about how quickly I would be able to get back into my routine and do things around the house as well. I asked my Dr's nurse and she said after a week I should be able to do most things myself. I am really active in my children's school and I hate to have others taking care of me. I am nervous and anxious at the same time.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow and sending you good luck wishes. Have a speedy recovery and let me know how it goes.

Nancy

Oh my goodness Mandy Sue God bless you. That sounds horrible. I had to stay in the hospital and extra day and I wanted to shoot myself. I wish you a quick and speedy recovery, I am 10 days post op and it hasnt been easy but every day is a new day.

Hey Denise,
Good luck! I just had my surgery Oct 13th. I truly wish you the best and I hope you have a good support system for when you come home. Recovery is tough, I have a 15 month old and I thank God that my Dad has been here with me along with my husband because I would not have been able to do it without them. You will do fine. Please keep in touch, and dont get discouraged.

We're surgery date twins!  I'm getting the sleeve that same day @ 7:30am (pacific time).   Wishing you great thngs on your journey!  How are you feeling with it being just a week away?  I haven't had much of a chance to get nervous yet, but I'm sure that'll come soon enough.  I've never had any type of surgery before, so I anticipate some anxiety on the 28th.

Well... the time has come... I am packed up, ready to go in for my RNY Gastric Bypass.

If you would have asked me one year ago if I would do this, I would have said no.  Wow --has that changed!!

I am a little nervous, but overall ok.  More than anything, I am nervous about the recovery process at home.  I have very little help once I get home and have two kids and an 8 month old American Bulldog puppy who is 80+ lbs!!

I will check in once I am home and settled.

best of luck to all,
Denise

Had my dietician appt 2 days ago, pre-op appt today, things went well.  I've been busy grocery shopping, getting the house cleaned up, paperwork done for work, babysitting arranged for the kids, puppy taken care of, all those things that have to get done.  Staying busy has helped keep the nerves away.  Studying my pre-op/post-op books and diet guidelines has helped, too.  I don't think I can get any more prepared than I already am at this point.

The PA told me today that I might be able to go home the same day--I'd love to sleep in my own bed, but if I have to stay overnight, I'll be a good kid and follow orders.  I can't believe the day is almost here!

Good luck to all of you who have to do the liquid pre-op diet--you've come this far, you can do it!  A couple days of Jello is a small price to pay for all the great things you're doing for your health.
I'm proud to be a Geeky Mom, and read about it here (clicky)!
