Congrats on your upcoming surgery and hope all goes well. I had my surgery on the 15th and I was scared in so many ways. I was afraid it would be so painful and so hard to follow through with. I remember the week of nothing but liquids before the surgery and how my stomach just growled and growled. Now after all said and done, the pain wasn't bad at all and I am not hungry or craving food at all. I feel good and I actually feel like I have more energy for some reason. I think my outlook on life is different and I'm so ready for the new ME. Good luck on your surgery and you'll do fine. You'll be surprised at how well you feel afterwards. Don't get me wrong the first 2 days the bloating was painful but other then that it was smooth. Let us know how you do. You'll be in my thoughts !
This is my first posting. My surgery was Oct, 19th. Hope yours went well on the 20th. I feel good and have not needed any pain meds since I left the hospital 3 days post op. I wanted to have some "friends" close to my surgery date to compare notes, ideas, feelings etc. I am taking it easy to let my wounds heal and will see my Dr. 2 weeks post surgery and hope to be cleared to start some excercise. The first 2 days home I had major hunger pains and could not find enough liquids to satisfy me. The protien shakes would not go down and nothign tasted good but I managed getting in approx 35 grams of protien a day. No dumping or vomiting. This is my 6th day post op and the protien shakes are now tolerable. Had to start over a bit as I lost 13 lbs during 2 week pre-op and came home with 13 lbs of bloating - down 10 lbs at 6 days post surgery. Every day gets easier. Let me know how you are doing and feeling 5 days post op. LKS
Any suggestions or encouragement? I have to start my liquid diet tonight at midnight, my surgery is october 28th at 330pm est.
