Surgery in the a.m.!!

Well... the time has come... I am packed up, ready to go in for my RNY Gastric Bypass.

If you would have asked me one year ago if I would do this, I would have said no.  Wow --has that changed!!

I am a little nervous, but overall ok.  More than anything, I am nervous about the recovery process at home.  I have very little help once I get home and have two kids and an 8 month old American Bulldog puppy who is 80+ lbs!!

I will check in once I am home and settled.

Good luck! I just had my surgery Oct 13th. I truly wish you the best and I hope you have a good support system for when you come home. Recovery is tough, I have a 15 month old and I thank God that my Dad has been here with me along with my husband because I would not have been able to do it without them. You will do fine. Please keep in touch, and dont get discouraged.

 Good luck. My date was originally the 23rd as well but I changed it to the 30th so I could go on a field trip with my son on th 29th. I have four kids 9,7,4,and 23 months. Plus a husband. I was worried about how quickly I would be able to get back into my routine and do things around the house as well. I asked my Dr's nurse and she said after a week I should be able to do most things myself. I am really active in my children's school and I hate to have others taking care of me. I am nervous and anxious at the same time.

Good luck today.  I will be joining you in a few hours.  When I first looked into WLS it was only because of the lapband.  I never would of thought i would get a RNY. but now i love the idea and am super excited. i can't wait for my new life.  i already lost 17 pds on the liquid diet in 2 weeks (well it help i cleared my bowels last night). I am 258....yeah...only a few more pds and i will fit into my wedding ring.  we are in the same boat with the kids ages and having a puppy.  my husband works 15 hr days so he is no help. i having him staying home monday morning to get the kids to school. other than that i am on my own. i'm sure if i am really bad off he will leave later everyday (he leaves at5:30am).  Anyways, I am so happy for you and things are going to go really well and life will be good!!!!
