Newbie here. Surgery Oct. 23, 2009
Hi everyone,
I am so happy to find this website. I'm having lap band surgery on Friday, Oct. 23. I'm very excited to have it done and really can't wait to feel better. I have struggled with weight loss for most of my life. I also had open heart surgery in 2001 to repair and Aortic Aneurysm, which I will need to have it done again in a few years. Another reason why I have to get this done. It will hopefully proglong the time I need the surgery again. Plus my cardiologist said that if I don't get serious I could risk the chance of dieing on the table and also infection afterwards. I am only 42 and I don't want to die. I have 2 teenage boys and a husband I am not ready to leave behind.
I have been on my presurgical diet for 1 1/2 weeks. I did cheat a few times with a peice of lunch meat ham and cheese. I have been trying to be faithful. I have to say I HATE the diet. It's killing me but I will stick with it. Only 3 days to go and I can't wait.
I am looking for lots of support.

Hi,
My surgery is also on October 23. I am having the VSG done in Mexico and am soooo excited. I leave in a few hours to catch the plane. I think I am more nervous about my first plane flight than the surgery. I hope you both have wonderful success with your surgeries and remember it is all in Gods hands.

Hello Everyone, I had the Laproscopic Gastic Bypass on Oct. 23rd. I am finding that I really need to keep going back to my book that my Surgeon provided, and using the Spirometer and walking is something I am having to make myself do!! I go to the Dr. for my first visit since surgery on Thursday and I can't wait to be able to start some good things to eat!!! Cream of wheat, Mashed potatoes etc.. Soo excited about that!!!
