Hi Everyone -
Sooo disappointed with myself - I was doing pretty good till Friday night - I was just so sick of the shakes. I ate 1/2 can of plain tuna fish - then did it again Saturday and SUNDAY ! Then today I had 1 slice deli roast beef and two plain baked pork chops - What the heck was I thinking ? I have to admit I have not even had a shake since Thursday so basically I have eaten nothing for days .. I am so mad at myself ..Has anyone else messed up ? . I pray that it won't mess up my surgery - I have been reading all night so many people do not even have a liquid pre-op diet - I only ate pure protein - but still very angry - tomorrow is clear liquid only - I am so nervous for Wed. morning ! I promised myself to follow my post op diet 100% - must listen to the NUT and drink my shakes - Just need to find one that tastes GOOD ! Please help !!!!!!!Best of luck to everyone !!!!

I have to admit I have been wondering this myself.  I realize in the perfect world, we would all, well, be perfect.  But, we didn't get to this starting point of our Journey because we have great self-control!  My Doc requires 2 week Atkins type diet - and I have been trying - but not always perfect.  ABout 3 weeks ago I did it perfect for 10 days - and then ended up without the date I thought - so took a couple of weeks off and started over - have to admit I have not been as good this time.

But, I see so many people whose Docs require nothing, or a 3 day liquid diet, that I keep thinking that pretty good for 2 weeks counts for something  - right!?

I hope I am not writing here Tuesday afternoon saying it was not good enough!

Don't beat yourself up. I've messed up too a few times.... had Chinese food the second night, no really big meals since but a slice of cheese here or a spoonful of peanut butter there, maybe a soup that I didn't strain all the way that had a couple of potato chunks in it. I've done good with the shakes as well as taking my vitamins, and I have lost 8 lbs since the last time I was weighed (a month ago), so I celebrate those small accomplishments. Like the previous poster said, we didn't get to this point by being savvy eaters. Do the best that you can and make sure you don't eat the day before so you don't get sick. Good luck!
