Hello! I'm another Oct. 27th kiddo, too!  I'm having the lap-band done that day.  After all the work to get to this point, I'll be glad to finally get it done.  I'm a bit nervous, and it's a huge change, but I know this will very likely eliminate my high blood pressure and cholesterol problems, will keep me from getting diabetes for a much longer time and maybe forever, will take a lot of pain and pressure off my knee, and will let me re-join my family in so many of the physical activities that I have a lot of trouble doing right now.  I'm looking forward to just being able to play frisbee and take the dog for a long walk, take a bike ride, and not be exhausted at the end of a work day,  among other things.  :)

Add me to the Oct. 27th list (RNY for me!)  How's everyone doing with pre-op.  Are you guys getting the panicky get your life in order just in case feeling I am getting?  I am excited, but feeling just a bit paranoid!  I have my pre-op tomorrow and maybe will relax after that.  So many delays have happened on this path so far, that I will not be half surprised for something to happen tomorrow that will make them wait.  I did just get back bloodwork and my triglycerides are awful - I hope that won't keep them from HELPING me!

So far, I'M a bit emotional, however looking for positive comments and don't seem to tolerate ANY negative ones.  I'm so excited it's crazy.  As far as getting ready for the 'in case' scenario', I had that all taken care of back in July with my lawyer.  It's been a long wait, but now it's going really fast lol.  I think we also all get the feeling that somekind of obstacle is going to stop us from getting to the finish line (surgery).  I certainly sending some positive thoughts your way hoping that everything works out for you.

Cheers & good luck!

Man, I can totally relate to the "have waited such a long time, but it's now coming so quickly!"  I was just thinking that the other day.  It's been a long haul, but this month has flown by.  I think it's because of my work.  I am crazy-busy at work!  Trying to get as much done as I can so that my sub won't have to worry about so much.  It's not a good time to miss work...Oh well!!!  Gotta take care of this girl first!       So, here's what I've been dwelling on lately:  I'm trying to get my bedroom all set up for convenience!  Is that too princess-y?!  I want to have some new jammies, I'm trying to get the bedroom all cleaned up nice and tidy.  Bathroom too...  I think cuz I know I won't be able to do it later...  I'm also trying to get the food lined up for when I can have mushies.  Basically I think I'm just stressing!  My surgeon didn't put me on a pre-op.  What's up with that?  I asked him 2 or 3 times even!  Ok, I KNOW I'm stressin now!  (rambling...)  Good luck everyone!!!

Hey Lisa!  Take time to breathe dear.  One day at a time.  Trying to jump forward won't get you there any faster.  Some doctor's do things differently, however, I know I have to be on a 3 day liquid diet before surgery.  Apparently and obviously, they don't want anything in my stomach and it shrinks the liver.  I guess that makes it easier for them during the surgery as well.  As for me, my house is up for sale, so it's pretty much prestine all the time right now.  I find it really hard since I'm not used to it be so perfect...and I'm sure not the 'perfectionist' LOL...I like my house looking like it's lived in!  Anyhoot, I wish you the best and we'll all be fine in the end .
