I have a surgery date 10-15-09 !!!!! now the 14th

I have a surgery date of oct 15th......lap band...  upped my date by one day, it is now the 14th....

Congrats on getting your date and we have the same date...I am so excited to get going on this new beginning but let me tell you this 8 days of just liquid is gonna be hard...my family wants to take a vacation while I'm on it lol.  Good luck on your surgery and hope all goes well.  You'll be in my thoughts.

We have the same new Birthdate, isnt that great!!!!!   I know the liquid diet is going to be really hard.  I am excited but scared of the new beginning.  We are on our way to a new us and world where we dont have to depend on food.  Lord help us!  I have not told me kids yet. They are so against any kind of WLS and thinks a person should be able to do it themselves.  One day they will see it is not easy at all.

I am having my surgery at Penn State Hershey and Dr. Shope will be doing the surgery.  I am having problems with my little one with the surgery, she's afraid something will happen to me and she feels I should not do it, she said she should be more important then wls but I told her all the wonderful benefits of me having it will be.  Slowly she is coming around but I know until I wake up from surgery she'll be a mess.  Good luck again and hope all goes well.

I know what you mean with Kids. My 1st husband passed away i***** so I am my kids only living parent. I believe that is why they would totally freek out if they knew what i was doing. I had total knee replacement last year and you would think i was on my death bed the way they acted.  My kids tell me all the time to lose weight and take care of myself bc i am their only parent so they should understand I am doing this for them and myself.   Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.

ok i had my surgery. Everything went fine until 4 days out. I started feeling very weak, not eating, and i was so tired.  Went to the doctor the following Wednesday and guess what it was. My blood pressure was down to 75/58!  at dismisal from the out patient place they told me to continue all my meds from before surgery and yes my blood pressure meds was one of them.  He pulled me off my blood pressure meds right then and there. So people make sure you can continue with blood pressure meds after the surgery.
