I got my Oct 9th date today.  I'm over the roof excited about it.  I'm starting my pre op diet on Sunday. My pre op is induction Atkins.  I haven't done that one is a LONG time, so I need to make sure I get everything I need tomorrow.  I'm hoping to lose 10 pounds before surgery so I can get the ball rolling :)

Thanks Mrs Gilmore!  I hope October 9 will be uneventful for you.  How's your pre op diet going?

ahhh, its going. Im not required to do a liquid diet, but I am required to do introduction to atkins, so needless to say I miss my carbs lol. Im trying to stay very busy so I dont think about it, but oh my lord it everywhere!! lol.

How are you doing?

I'm doing alright on the pre op diet, but it's only day 2 so - we'll see.  If you were in Jacksonville, FL, I'd think we have the same doctor.  It seems most folks here do a full liquid pre op diet.  I don't think I could manage to do all liquids for 2 weeks with my full stomach.  I'm counting on the sleeve to make clear and full liquid phases tolerable post op.

I have to do 1 week clear liquid, 1 week, full liquid, 3 weeks soft.

What about you?

I was thinking the same thing. I always see the liquid diets starting before the surgery, and I tell ya I give them props lol, because I dont think I could do it!

After surgery I have to do 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks pureed, week 5 I do soft foods then I can slowly start adding solids =)

Im so looking forward to this!

Congrats on your surgery date.

That is also my surgery date as well.

What time is your surgery?

My surgery is at 11:00 am.

I am doing Isopure Zero Carb for my protein shake pre op and post op.

Hi Teena,

Congratulations on getting your date!  I'm excited for both of us.

I'm doing a high protein, extremely low carb pre op diet including Bariatric Advantage protein shakes.

My surgery is scheduled for 9:00 AM.

I'm shooting for a 10lb loss before the 9th.  So far - I'm down 1 whole pound - LOL.  Maybe I should blog about losing my first pound :D.

Thanks.

Congrats on your one pound weight loss.

You are funny.

You should blog or journal your whole experience so later you can look back and see how far you have come.

I should blog. I think I'm afraid that I'll have to document my mistakes.  I like to think of myself as perfect (no one else does, so I like to) and the last thing I'd want to do is look back at error after error.  But - I suspect I'd have a much better chance of succeeding if I do face those mistakes, and learn from them.  Don't they say that people who don't know their history are condemned to repeat it?

Are you blogging?  I guess I could journal here at OH.  I'll work on that.  First things first - I need to do something about my profile.
