Well it's official. I got the call this afternoon with my surgery date. I am so excited! I really was hoping for sooner but it is what it is & I am happy to have all my preop testing & clearances done and now just waiting for the date to come when I start my preop liquid diet. This is probably the point I am not looking forward to the most.

So anyway, my surgery is October 7th in Peoria, IL with Dr. Salimath. I am so happy I chose a sleeve even though I wonder if I will be able to lost the amount of weight I need to be healthy. Can I really lose 200lbs with a sleeve? I sure hope so!

Thanks for all the support from the few people I have been talking to. They have answered so many questions for me.

Congrats on your date!!!

I get my official date either tomorrow or Thursday but was told it will either be October 7th or 14th unless they can squeeze me into September somewhere but I doubt it.

I have to do a 2 week liquid diet. This is the part I am not looking forward to but I will survive!

Although you need to wait for 2 months, you've worked really hard to get that date...  CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS! Now it's time to relax for a few weeks.

Will be my re-birth day!!!! I'm really psyched.

Have a zillion thoughts as to what I should be doing and what will make things easier on me. I've heard of eating a lot of protein prior to surgery to shrink the liver, but my surgeon never said anything about this.

Are there any other things I should be thinking of, or doing prior to surgery to make things easier for me afterwards?

HELP! My mind is racing with thoughts of what to do.

I don't get in to see my Dr. again until a week before the surgery.

I've been waiting too - and its going by fast.  I've been using my time to declutter my house!  It feels good to get rid of the extra stuff.
