I had posted earlier in the week to say that I was having RNY surgery on 9/30. Unfortunately, I got a call 10pm the night before that my brother had suddenly passed away. I cancelled the surgery and I've been out of town since then. The services are Sat and Mon, so I will be going out of town again tomorrow. I have to reschedule the surgery, hopefully, later in the month. My brother was a HUGE support to me and very much in favor of me having the surgery, so I know I'll go through it soon. My daughter lives in Boston and she had come to Phila. to help take care of me...thank god she was here...she was a voice of reason when I was not thinking clearly.

I'll touch base again when I get back in town. Hope everyone is doing well.

 I had to do pre-op testing but only like a pysical and blood tested but all surgeon are different

So...I am 1 week and 1 day out...I feel...the same as I did before surgery minus the no appetite thing.  I mean, am I supposed to be able to SEE the difference?  Or will I not magically see or feel any different until I go to the doctor next week. Does it take 2 weeks?  3 weeks? HELPPPP!!! I am not really sure what's going on.  I am doing what I am supposed to do though.  Other than that, I feel fine..but sort of feel like maybe.. I dunno...maybe the weight is permanently attached. Lol.  Maybe if I go to sleep and wake up, I'll be 30 lbs lighter? Oh well.  Please give advice!

Does anybody know how much doctors and hospitals charge for the BPD/DS surgery?  I am a Canadian who does not have BPD/DS surgery available to me and if approved by my provincial health program, they will only cover up to 70% of the hospital charges.  I need to know where I am at in terms of cost coming out of my pocket.  Thanks.
