Topic: I am having DS surgery on Oct. 25th.
I am having a DS on Oct. 25th, 2008, yes my surgeon does surgery on Sat. I was expecting and went to classes for RNY but then found out my surgeon does DS and I was a good candidate for the DS and I need all the support and help I can get through this process. I start my 2 week pre-op full liquid diet this Sat. Please keep me in your thoughts and Prayers these next few weeks and thank you all for your great support here and for your great advice too. Best wishes to you all.

Topic: RE: Sticking to Pre-op diet - yikes!
Hi there, I am on day 6 of my 14 day preop diet and as of today have lost 13 pounds already!! I am doing Unjury Protien shakes, clear liquids and I'm allowed 1 low carb yogurt per day. The first 2 days were awful with sugar and caffeine withdrawls but on day three that all went away. It's not easy. I'm craving Subway like you wouldn't believe, of all things, and I've walked into my office twice this week to big buffets of food. It would be so easy to walk up to that table and help myself but that is what got me here in the first place. The only thing that i've done that wasn't on the paper my doctor gave me is to put seasonings in my chicken and beef broth but I felt so quilty that I wont be doing that again.
I get it, it's HARD but you have to stick to it. If anything just to prove to yourself that you can. Part of the reason we ate the way we did is to cover up quilt and shame only to feel more after only eating. I would hate to see you start your weight loss journey on that kind of cycle.
How have you done the last couple days? Did you get back on track? Have you stuck to it? You can do it! It's 8 days, not forever and we are all here for you and going through this with you. You are not alone!
Hugs,

Topic: October 20th here, and scared
Hey all the 20th is coming up soon and I am getting really nervous, I have days where I feel great and then days when all I do is worry....and I cant sleep. I worry not so much about the surgery itself but the afterwards. The malnutrion, deficincies, hypoglycemia etc. and to top that off I have a previous history of bloot clots. soooo. hmmm what to do what to do lol
Topic: RE: anyone else on 10/14????
I was told to not be surprised if I get my period shortly after surgery or even in the hospital no matter how soon I got it before. My nurse today said it's from all the hormone changes that happen so quick. She said don't be embarassed most people get it..
