You are entirely welcome! I hope you have a WLSG local group so you have people to talk to who have been through this. If you go to the main site for forums, you should be able to click on your state and find one. Of course, there is also support here on this forum. Please post how you are doing on the liquid diet.

Hi Everyone- I just wanted to say thank you for writing back to me wishing me well. Yesterday I started my pre-surgery 1,000 calorie diet. So I am 20 day from surgery.

Topic: Still in hospital but doing well!!!
Hi everyone. I am still in the hospital but I am doing well. Just got my IV & Cath removed. Moving to phase 2 diet and probably will be able to go home this afternoon.
So all is well. No problems at all! Just have some pain in my drain area & left shoulder.

I got a call today to set up my first appt with the surgeon and the dietitian. I will see both on the 21st of Nov and will see the pulmonoligist on the 30th of Oct (they had to change my date) I have already had my echo and my EKG. i get my psych eval on Nov 20th. I am getting so excited. Hopefully I won't have to do to many more pre op test. I do have to see the dietitian 2 times prior to my surgery. I now have a surgeons name I will be using Dr Varnell he is a new Dr to the Surg Assoc team.

Isn't it exciting!!! I am way more nervous about the liquid diet than I am the surgery.... Has your doctor given you any tips or instructions concerning it? I go for my appt. on Monday - I will share anything new I learn.

I read your post on the 8th, today, and I have just prayed for you! I appreciate you offering prayers for those who come behind you too!!! I am 60, a retired teacher, and waiting for a surgery date.

Hello! I am pleased for you that you have a date!!!! It has been a year for me since I decided to have WLS, and I am still waiting. That is partly due to having changed insurance programs and then mainly that I am having my surgery at a military facility, and the doctor does other abdominal surgeries with WLS as he can work it in.
Anyway, I am happy for you! I went to an OH conference in Sacramento and purchased a couple of books by Chef Dave Fouts. He was one of the inspirational speakers and known as the only chef who specializes in helping WLS patients. One booklet has shake recipes, one has smooth foods, and the longest has 4 wks of tasty recipes. You can read about this at www.ChefDave.org
As a pre-surgery person, that is all the advice I dare to give!
