I'm having surgery on October 27, too! I'm so excited, but nervous about the full liquid diet for 2 weeks. I thought I'd be having it done at the end of November, so it's a little scary but I'll be glad to get it over with.
Best of luck!

Topic: RE: I have a date! Oct.28th - My new beginning!
I'm starting full liquids on the same day (Monday) for surgery on October 27, and I'm nervous, too. I just got the surgery date today, so I wasn't really prepared to start a liquid diet next week - I'm worried about getting too hungry, or drinking too much and gaining weight.
My doctor gave me a sample meal plan for the full liquid diet, and there are other sample plans on the web, too. One of the doctor's suggestions was to sample several different types of protein supplements to get an idea of what you'll want to eat when you get to the full liquid stage post-op.
I googled "bariatric surgery protein supplement" and found maybe 10 websites that sell food specifically for WLS patients, and a couple of them offered samples (most for a small fee). I ordered sample sizes from a couple of sites, and I also ordered a 14-day kit from www.med-diet.com that has puddings, shakes, SF applesauce, etc., so you can just stick with that instead of trying to figure it out on your own. It was $109 for 2 weeks' of food (other than juice and milk, if I remember right.) I have no idea how it will taste, but it seemed like a good solution for me.
Good luck!

I know! The middle of the night stuff sucked being woke up every 2 hours it seems. Like I had someone come in at 4am to get bloodwork. Give me a break! Did you have the things on your legs that kept them moving so no blood clots could form? Mine went off every 3 freaking seconds! I wanted to scream!

Topic: RE: Feel like I am getting the run around.
You aren't getting the run around. Every surgeon is different and each insurance company has different requirements. I found from talking to people though that most insurance companies require you to complete a weight loss program for several months before surgery such as MOVE, Weigh****chers or as you listed above through you Dietitian. Eating requirements prior and after surgery also vary per surgeon. Keep your chin up, I know I got anxious to get started to once I had made up my mind to have the surgery. There will be many medical visits with different specialists before your surgery too and I found this good so I knew my health was good or where I needed improvement. Good luck! Mary G.
