You are not alone - I went through the same thing...had finally calmed down with less than a week till surgery - then due to family emergancy had to move my date to 11/11 - now i refuse to get worked up again. So you basically need to tell your brain to hush and only allow yourself to think the good thoughts otherwise you will continue to lose a lot of sleep. Doing what I've suggested to you has helped a lot!

thanks for the encouraging words. I really want this but can't help but to feel nervous. you are so right eat to live not live to eat. that is what i need to focus on. I will keep you in prayer. Good luck on the 24th. We just need to stay focused. We can and will get thru this. A new Beginning.

thanks for the couraging words....... I am definetly going thru with this. I have to do this for me and my health. I am so excited for you... Good luck. I will keep you in my prayers. The only thing I am truely worried is i have asthma and i am worried about breathing problems after surgery. Thats what happened to my sister who just went thru rny surgery. And the pain afterwards. I know i am going to be ok but Can't help but to worry a lil.

Dawn, so sorry you are scared and nervous! These are all normal reactions. I have read and researched for years and at least for now (8 days away) I am not the least bit nervous. Trust me, I get the people telling me all the horror stories, but I choose not to let that get to me! I am aware of the possibilities. But I am also very aware of the POSITIVE possibilities!! Just think about why you really want this. Chances are you will remember that you are doing this for your health and well being. If it's right for you then you will be at peace. Good luck to you and I hope you feel better about your decision!!

Hi!! I am having my RNY on Oct 24th. I am going to my doc's office to sign consents and going to the hospital for preop appt today too!!! But, I am seeing Dr. James Redmann in Louisianna. We can still keep in touch though!!! I've been on my preop diet and am doing very well....I was a little shaky and blah the first couple of days, but now I am like....wow, it's time for another shake!! LOL
I am SOOOOOO excited about being a loser!! Nice to meet ya Laura!

I feel totally excited about my surgery but as it gets closer I am really stressing out bigtime. I think about the "what if." I have 3 young children and can't imagine not being here for them if anything goes wrong. I have been positive and excited but now I am the total opposite.. My sister had the ds in march and is fine as can be and I know I will be to but.. yeah you all know.. lol
I am full of anxiety right and I can't sleep.. Look its almost 2:00 A.M.
Anyways I am venting. I don't know anyone on here and haven't even writen my story yet..lol

Hi Kathleen, My name is Joan and I'm having Gastric Bypass on the 29th. I live in Lawton but am having surgery in Wichita Falls, Texas. I'm a little nervous but very excited. I am 55 and have been overweight since grade school. I did loose a lot of weight 2 yrs. ago, but have gained it all back. My only child, a son, got married a few months ago and I want to be around to enjoy grandchildren. God gave me a wonderful husband 2 yrs ago and I now have insurance which will pay. Hi, my name is Laura. I don't have any experence yet, but I am scheduled on Oct 24th for my surgery. And it seems to be normal what you are feeling. I feel the same way too, exactly really. But I know I don't want to keep this up, I want to be healthy and pain free ( phyically and mentaly) I am going to eat to live, not live to eat. That is the plan anyway. Sounds good on paper anyway doesn't it. Hang in there we'll be fine.
