I had my surgery on Oct. 13 and I went shopping the following saturday. I know everyone is different, but if you are like me you will be able to go with no problems. I'm not sore or anything now, just have an insanely bad period which I have been told is normal, but not everyone gets it. Be prepared though!
Topic: Hair loss concerns after lap band
I was told that I needed to have 65 grams of protein per day to avoid hair loss. I am getting that in but 3.5 months post lap band, it seems as if I am losing quite a bit of hair. I have plenty, but at this rate, that might become an issue later. I have heard that rapid weight loss often results in hair loss and that Biotin is a good thing to supplement that - what are your thoughts.

Well surgery day is almost here. Tomorrow clear liquids, nothing after midnight and be at the hospital at 5:30 am on Friday. (Are there really TWO of those each day, I only thought they came once a day around dinner time. Just kidding.)

Congrats on your surgery. I had mine on Monday 10/27. Lap-band. Have some soreness at the port site, am trying to behave and take it easy. Walking every hour helps with the gas stuff. I have 4 weeks of liquids now and hope to be able to stick with the program. I'm trying to think of a good name for my band...any suggestions?

Congats... My preop is Monday. I have lost the 19 lbs I gained in the hospital so hopefully I will be down too by my appt.

According to my new scale at home I am 16 pounds down since my preop diet started. At the doc's office their scale had me at 14 pounds down. Factor in that I was naked and straight out of the bed at home this morning, it could be right either way....it's awesome results!!
They said my incisions looked great and that I'm doing fabulous!! It was a wonderful day!! Yay for me!!

Hello, I'm new to this site and want to have WLS but have not started any steps YET! and can't even think of checking into it until after Jan. 1st. I am also new to the northern Mississippi / Memphis, TN area and looking for friends and support groups or any information near Memphis, TN.
