My surgery date was 10/1. I still have that pain in my left side. The surgein said that he probably bruides my ribs during surgery. It thats what it is then it is a strange bruise. But its getting better. I'm not eating much. I get my protein with protein shakes. And bites of what the kids have. I'm still really tired. I didn't expect to feel this bad after surgery. Can't wait for it to get better.
23 lbs down since surgery and wearing smaller clothes. I think it mostly came from my stomach.

Thanks for the advice. I know they fixed a hernia while they were in there as well. It is my left side giving me so much pain. I havebeen trying to not twist my body very much because that sends a pulling straining pain all over my abdomen! I go in tuesday for my 1 wk post op. so maybe some staples will get to come out.

Congrats on your 45 pound weight loss. That is amazing! I'm a Oct 17 surg date but can relate to that pain on the left side. What's the deal with that. I thought that maybe it was from all the muscles trying to heal up. It's a horrible crampy pain and i try to stretch it out. I'm just now on pureed diet. Don't exactly love it. Keep up the good work.
Topic: RE: 4 Days After Surgery
I just came home yesterday. I had surgery on Fri. The surgery was fine but I'm in a lot of pain from gas. I feel like a blimp. I'm hoping that tomorrow will be better and each day will improve after that. Good luck ....I hope by now you're feeling great.

I'm on week 2 of post op and I still have considerable pain in my left side. It's just the muscle tissue. Went i went in for my follow up, they said that some people can have pain or twinges for up to a month.
Just kind of watch what kind of activities you are participating in. No twisting your torso - which I have been guilty of doing ;)
Hope this helps :)

I had surgery on 10/23 and I am still in a lot of discomfort. Everything is uncomfortable and I rely on my pain medication. Remember we had surgery...and it's going to be awhile before we feel 100%. Hang in there!
Topic: Quick Lapband Serving Size Question
I had my lapband surgery on the 20th of November. So I'm still in my mushy food phase. But I have read some conflicting information and would like to make sure I'm going about this the right way before I go further in and do something wrong.
In the initial instruction binder that my surgeon gave me, it said that you need to eat 1/2 - 3/4 cup per meal, 3 times a day. But in my Post-op package I received at my first follow up appt, I read that you are supposed to only eat 2 oz per each meal. So a total of 3/4 cup per day.
A 2 oz meal just seems EXTREMELY small to me and I'm not sure how a human could actually live on so little food.
Which is the ideal amount of food to eat?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

I had surgery on Tuesday 10/28 and today is the first day that I didn't take any pain meds. The gas pains have eased up as well, but I have not had a bowel movement yet. So far I can't complain. The day of surgery was the worst for me. Other than that I have been getting better each day.
