Follow-up just started Pre-op Diet and I am starving...

Thanks to everyone *****sponded.  I have been able to stick to my liquid diet without wavering for the past 10 days.  The ravenous hunger has passed.  I feel hollow and a bit nauseous, but not that horrible stomach hunger.  Food actually makes me a little ill (looking, smelling, cooking).

Thanks again, everyone and to anyone out there struggling.  Keep your eyes on the prize and don't give in.

Surgery is Friday, prayers will be greatly appreciated.

 Hi Kathi.  Good luck Friday.  I am going tomorrow for my surgery.  The liquid diet is lethal.  I did get to eat one light meal at night like a lean cuisine. Today, however it is all liquids.

You probably will not get this until you get home.  Congratulations on your surgery and feel good very soon.  Remember, walk, walk, walk, sip, sip, sip, walk, etc.

OKAY so I am now on day three of the liquid diet.  I have a couple of questions?  When does the want to eat food pass?  I have been good so far and I have not swayed.  and I am not starving, I just want to eat everything I see.  But I have been good!  I was told the third day is the hardes, and my co-worker was just eating a pop tart and I thought I was gonna steal it from her hands.  I have to say that this is harder psychologically for me then it is hunger wise.  Please help so I have an idea when this passes, I have a support group meeting tonight.  13 days til surgery and It can not get here quick enough!

If it is head hunger, that is some thing only you can deal with.  I think keeping busy, reading this website and everything you can get your hands on about your upcoming surgery.  Try to remember WHY you are doing this. 

The physical hunger pretty much passes by the 4th day.  You CAN do this!! 

I thought I was passed the wanting food, but today I am making chicken soup.  Cutting up the veggies made me want to eat them.  I LOVE raw vegetables, unfortunately there are other things I love too.  That is why I have to do this surgery.  I need the tool to help me get to a healthy weight.

The support group meeting is great.  I went to my first last night and it was quite inspiring.
