I had polio as a child and my legs are weak and not able to do all the walking required.  Is there something else I can do to help with the weight loss?

Can you bike at like the Y? Not sure if your legs are stong enough for that. Also I have seen some gyms have like arm bikes. Where you petal with your hands when you can't use your legs but still get the workout from it.

My other suggestion woould be start lifting some type of weights. Have you contacted your exercise specialists to give you ideas?

I have an exercise bike but my legs get so weak when I get off that I can hardly stand.  I am going to start tomorrow and try working on a gazelle and treadmill.  Going to start slow and hopefully be able to increase.  I haven't talked to anyone yet about what kind of exercise I can do.  Was waiting until I was feeling better.

My MD wrote a prescription for physical therapy in a heated pool before surgery, it was great!!  No impact on my joints and I lost weight!  the isurance only paid for 6 weeks of therapy, but I am looking for a gym with heated pool and pool classes. Good luck on your journey!
