I am ready today.... I had my preanistisa today and got the last of my instructions.  I went for my pre anistisa testing today I have depleted potassium and I am at a high risk for dehydration.  Wow I didn't know this much was involved in the surgery.  the pumping boots, nose tube, cathadar, ventelator, drains ( I knew of them).  Wow I don't want a cathadar isn't that dumb thats the  main thing that worries me now??...  I didn't know they would be down there.  wish my hubby could be the 1 to put that in.... I know stupid.  I've had 3 kids.

I feel better already.  I got weighed inthe hospital today and lost 7lbs since last tuesday off my liver shrink..

Hi! I am also scheduled for 10/14. I had the last of my pre-testing done and just have to go in for a final physical with my doctor to review my history, etc.

I am not looking forward to the cath, either. Luckily, I won't be conscious when it goes in--but I will be when it comes out. Ugh. I hope I don't get my period right before surgery...

Good luck!

I was told to not be surprised if I get my period shortly after surgery or even in the hospital no matter how soon I got it before.  My nurse today said it's from all the hormone changes that happen so quick.  She said don't be embarassed most people get it..

keep me posted

Hi.  I had the same worries as you before I went in.  The catheter does not hurt coming out.  Also, I was worried about the drain hurting when it came out.  I got it out today and it didn't hurt at all.  My period came one week to the day after my surgery.  Good luck, I will be thinking and praying for you.

hi, my surgery is 10/15, but I check in on 10/14, yes I don't like the idea of all the stuff put in, or being without my underwear in the operating room, lol...good luck, you will do great. Christi

Hi, I am scheduled for the 14th also at WVU.  I am excited and nervous.  I had my pre op and EGD done today.  I was aware of every thing that was going on and fell asleep on the way home.  I have been on a liguid fast since last Monday and have lost 11 pounds.  SO HAPPY!!!  I am not happy about the NG Tube.  The catheter is not that big of a deal.  Have had several surgeries so I am use to having them in. I have sleep apnea so I may end up on the ventilator.  Not happy about that either.
I am so ready to not live this life any more.  The liquid fast has been so easy.

Tomorrow is the day for me! In my last post I said that I hope I don't get my period right before surgery. Guess what? I got it on Friday--at least it won't be too bad during surgery...

Good luck everyone!
