Sticking to Pre-op diet - yikes!
We go out to eat every Sunday after church with my girls and their husbands and today wasn't any different. They decided to go to a buffet. I took SF jello, crystal light to put in cold water and a couple of boullion cubes to put in hot water with me. I ate 3 spoons of potato soup broth and it really tasted good. I was a cheap date today...the waitress didn't even charge me for the couple sips of soup that I had.
I am worried about the puree stage. I don't know how I will manage that at a resturant. I might have to stick with my liquids for that meal. I suppose I could take a thermos with a protein drink in it.

I am scheduled for surgery on 10/28/08 and I am finding it very hard to be full on the four protein shakes and two fiber bar 1200 calorie a day diet my doctor has put me on. My doctor requested I do it for 2 weeks prior to surgery so I started on 10/06/08 I am still having a hard time and my husband was so upset that I was hungry and gently suggested I have some turkey and vegetables. I did and now I feel so guilty. I really had every intention on following this plan to the letter but it is so hard to keep up my regular schedule on next to nothing.
However, I did not go over my 1200 calorie a day allowance so does that mean I really did myself harm. I have lost 10 pounds. I kinda terrible.

Try putting it in a blender with some ice so its thicker. Sometimes I have found that consistancy is everything. Remember our bodies want to eat so if you make the shakes thick with ice, they have a heavier texture and you will find it more satisfying.
Hang in there
