I got a date! I have been waiting since last year to figure this out. I'm a self pay and it is very hard! I have been praying and trying to remain faithful is very hard sometimes when you think that you are not getting anywhere.
I'm having my surgery oct 28 and im nervous as crazy, already sick to my stomach. Why don't know. I have had surgeries before. So I know what to expect.

Any advise? Oh im getting ready to take me education class on the 10. Now has anyone taken the Physc evaluation yet? Is so what is it like and what are some of the details?

Thanks

Congrats on your date....that is awesome.  My surgery is 10/6 and I've been getting nervous too.  A friend of mine told me that when she has surgery, she changes the way she thinks a little to help her cope with it.  For example, she said that I should be thinking....a week from now, I'll be done with my surgery.  She said that helps her.  I've been trying to do that and it does help.  Yesterday I thought...in a week I'll be going home...YEAH!!  So things like that may help you.  Are you all ready for the surgery?  If not, start getting things you'll need for after.  That will help fill up some time.

I did my psych. eval. here in NY and had a lot of paperwork to fill out.  There was this huge questionnaire.  I also talked to the psych. too.  It was beneficial.  He pointed out some things that I wouldn't have even thought about.  I went back for a second visit and that was it.

Good luck to you.  Hang in there.

Congratulations on your surgery date.  My date is for November 19th.  I am not one bit afraid of the surgery itself.  It is after the surgery and the complete life change that I am a little nervous about but everyone tells me that is normal to fear the unknown.
The psych evaluation is nothing to worry about and in fact I found the questionnaire quite interesting as well as the visit with the psychologist himself.  There are just alot of questions that you will answer on paper by yourself.  That is just to make sure that you are ready and can handle a big decision like this.
If it was a long wait for you, then it is something that you REALLY want and GOD is just trying to help you walk through it.

Best of Luck to you.
