I'm a fellow Octoberite from 2005. I just wanted to wish you all who are embarking on  this journey the best of luck! If I can be of any help to any of you, please let me know :)

You're welcome :)  I didn't have an angel either and I'm not sure as to what they are supposed to do?! :)

I'm having RNY on Oct. 7th.   Any tips on what to pack?

Looking back on things, I really wish I brought my own pillow! You'll need a good one to hold against your belly when you start coughing to get the stuff out of your lungs. A good robe and some comfortable slippers/shoes cause you'll be up and walking soon after surgery. Just remember the more you get up and move about the quicker you'll start feeling better :)
