Topic: 2 days to surgery
I am very excited, nervous, anxious, etc... to get the ball rolling. I get my LAP Band on Oct 8th - finally no more mental anguish of "I only have X number of days to eat!" lol I have been able to lose 11 pounds the past 10 days on the pre-surgery diet my doctor requires but oh how I am hungry...I am hoping the hunger pains will diminish after the band - any insights?

Topic: Need suggestions on eating solid foods lapband patient
I had my lapband on August 31st and have lost 36 lbs to date. I am puzzled what to eat to make sure I am healthy. Can anyone give me suggestions on what is a typical day and the meal plan for the day. My surgeons says 1/2 cup of food per meal and 3 meals a day. So do you all eat just one thing or split and like eat 1/3 of this and that at one meal I am at a loss since I just started solid foods and afraid to eat much for fear I will have the dumping syndrome.

dont give up on waiting for BCBS to approve I waited almost 1 yr and 7 months fighting BCBS of CA they denied me and I appealed it and basically threatened them if they did not approve I would take my case to the media or legal action. If you meet the criteria they should not deny anyone Hope you get approved

Hi Cindy It is my understanding that the sleeve surgery is for people more than 300 lbs. I was told that after you have that and have lost maybe 100 lbs or more depending on how much you weighed to begin with, they change it to gastric bypass. So you will end up with two more surgery's but check it out and look at both sleeve and bypass then make your decision. Judy

Topic: Has anyone here had ...
Has anyone here had to have a weight loss revision surgery? My doctor just told me my band has to come out and suggests that I get a surgery called "vertical sleeve" after 6 weeks of healing. I looked it up and it sounds kinda drastic. He says that it is more likely than not that I will gain my weight back without my band. I admit that he is probably right. How bad is this sleeve surgery? Recovery time? Pain after surgery? Is the post op diet about the same as lap band? Liquid, then mush, then soft foods, then solids? Man, the things we will do to ourselves to stay thin! But thin feels soooooo good. I can't think about gaining the weight back! HELP!javascript:setMainIcon('confused',15,22)
