Topic: RE: UPDATE!!! HOME FROM SURGERY!!!
Welcome home - I am pre rny the 23rd of this month - I am getting nervous, but excited. I wish you all the success and a speedy recovery, if you have a support group where you are, you should be a part of it. We have one in Oklahoma City and I love hearing the good and the bad. Well not so much on the bad, but at least a heads up on the bad. So I hope you keep posting your updates. Brenda from Oklahoma

Topic: RE: I need a CPAP...
I can indeed buy a CPAP myself, but the cost is prohibitive. A CPAP costs over $1000! I checked on a used machine and it was still about $500. I can not afford that. I will probably only need the machine for a short time anyway, so there's no way I could justify borrowing money to buy something I wont have to use but for a month.

Topic: RE: 2 days to surgery
Karen good luck with your lap band surgery. I am 4 1/2 weeks post op from the lap band surgery and I have lost 36 lbs. I will tell you the first 2 weeks of liquids are terrible. The 3rd day I was home I cried all day cause I was hungry. But when I went to mushy foods on my 3rd week the hungar pains subsided. Stick with it I know its hard. Make sure you get in the support group if they have one in your area that will help too

I haven't gotten the final approval on mine yet but my MD office says I have tentative approval and they also say BCBS is really good about it (I assume that's who you meant). Call the number on the back of your card because depending on which plan your company bought it can be really good or really bad. Plus they can tell you if GBP is excluded on your policy or if you have to meet certain criteria. Good luck!

Topic: RE: Weird Pre-Surgery Food Cravings
Oh boy do I know how that feels! With all of this post-op stage food talk, I've somehow talked myself into eating like I just had surgery...even though I haven't had it yet. Last weekend I was eating refried beans and sour cream everyday, every meal, because I heard it was a great suggestion for Stage 2 and 3 foods! LOL. Am I wasting my few precious moments left before surgery on foods I'll be sick of 6 to 8 weeks from now?
