That is awesome Bonnie. I will be thinking about you on Tuesday. That is when I have my consultation for the lap band surgery. I'm hoping to have my surgery by the end of the year or early next year. Keep us informed on how your surgery went and as you lose the weight.

Ooooh...I never thought of egg drop soup. The doctor said only broth. I think the soup sounds great! He can't say too much 'cause it's clear, right?

One of my favoirite exercise is walking. I understand about not being able to go outside to do that. During times of bad/cold weather or extremely hot/humid weather here in Oklahoma I use my dvd of Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds. it is a pretty good workout but it isn't ver strenous. Just walking and doing some small kicks or marches. It is really a lot of fun and Leslie is so motivational. Good luck in getting back into the losing game.

Topic: RE: Surgery Date 11/2/07 and I need to lose 20 lbs.
From the seminars and a group support meeting that I have been to they have recommended high protein liquid drinks, sugar free puddings, chicken broth, egg drop soup, and lots of water and non-caffeine drinks such as water, herbal tea, and crystal light. I hope that gives you more choices. I will be on this liquid thing soon I hope. I have my consultation next Tuesday for the lap band surgery. Good luck.

Hi Jenny. My name is Wynotha and I live in Oklahoma. I'm just in the beginning stage of having the lap band surgery. I have my consultation with the surgeon next Tuesday and I'm a little nervous about it. I think it is normal to be a little nervous on such a big change in our lives. I'm looking forward to having my surgery and getting a 2nd chance at life. If I can be a source of support/encouragement, please email me at [email protected] and put lap band friend in the subject line so I won't delete it. I get so much spam that I just delete it if it doesn't have something about lap band friend. I look forward to hearing about your progress.

Ladies, I am SO there with you. My surgery is on 17th, and I feel like I am eating everything that isn't nailed down. It's a little scary... (hide your children!) And I am definitely having some last minute jitters... Got to get my head on straight a bit before they band me up. Get focused, get psyched...but yeah, right there with you on the bizarre-o appetite & cravings vibe...

That's really all I have to say, sorry but I spent so much time worrying my insurance auth wouldn't be done in time I just had to post it everywhere. Good luck to all us pending October surgeries and well wishes to all who have already had theirs.

Topic: Help!!
Hi, How's everyone doing? I tried a new product and I just wanted to share it. I got the new 42 gram IDS protein in 3oz vials. Here some info on it... New 42 gram size. Introducing the most convenient delivery of protein ever conceived! NEW WHEY liquid protein from IDS is revolutionizing protein supplementation! NEW WHEY delivers 42 grams of pure protein with no carbs or fat in a 2.9 ounce serving! Perfectly conceived convenience, consumed in as little as three seconds! With its patent pending virtually indestructible packaging, NEW WHEY can be taken anywhere conveniently and easily. No messy mixing of powders, & no messy clean up. NEW WHEY contains NO unnecessary calories seen in "Protein Bars"! NEW WHEY is the ideal protein supplement for people on the go! I got fruit punch and I like it. I just ordered grape and orange. It is a bit pricey, so I figured I'll only take one a day and try to get the rest of protein in food or in a regular protein shake. But getting 42gms in 3 oz is awesome! Here's what I need help with. I havent been losing weight the last 6 months or so. I've been getting Venofer infusions for 3 months now and my Ferritin level was only 2 and my hemoglobin was 4. I think being weak and run down stopped my weight loss. Now my dilema is that I have a hernia and it's getting bigger, it does'nt hurt but it gets twisted at times and is very uncomfortable. I need surgery on that and I also need my dog ears and lower back lift done. Id like to get that at the same time, but I would like to lose this last 50 pounds. I seriously need help with ideas to kick start my weight loss back up. Heres what Im doing now... 42 gram of protein vial 40 grams in food ( south beach diet bars, lite cheese sticks, jerky etc) Im gonna try the Gazelle for excersize tommorow, however I just got out of a cast on Friday for carpal tunnel surgery and my surgeon said i cant join the gym for 5 more weeks. So Im going to attemot the Gazelle one handed. Im asthmatic so walking outside this time of the year is off limits for me. I'll take any advice , help, tips I can get. I need to move fast before this hernia gets worse. I have had 27 operations in my life. Im trying to minimize and get as much done at once. I have issues with anesthia. Thank you for any help!!

Topic: RE: 5 months in and hair loss ????ANd weight loss stopped help
Jill, First I was wondering which surgery you had? I had the lapband three months ago and just very recently I am experiencing hair loss. It really bothers me and I asked my doc about it and he said just to make positive that I take my vitamins every day because it is malnuritiousment that is causing the loss.SO whatever you do,make sure you take them it is so important for your well being. As far as the weight issue,I never really lost anything until I started doing really high protein and low carb(which technically is what we are suppose to do anyhow)I lost 13 lbs in the first month of doing that,so it does work! I virtually have no metabolism and if it works for me it will for anyone!ANYHOW, good luck! and hang in there!! take your vitamins and get lots of fluids so you will stay nurished and that should help with your hair.
