Topic: Psch Evaluation?
Hello everyone!
I have a consultation appt. with a doctor to discuss LB. The receptionist informed me that I would also need an appt. with the Psch and the nutritionist. I'm not so worried about the nutritionist as I am about the phsc appt. Should I be nervous? What do they ask or do they give you a test?

Topic: RE: Lost My Best Friend this Week
I assume you are referring to food as your best friend... if so, then I will take a someone light approach to the issue.
Think of it not as though you lost your best friend, but that you lost your worst enemy. And yes, it may have felt like you loved this enemy... but there's such a thing as Stockholm Syndrome... and this might be a case of it.
It'll get better.

Topic: Lost My Best Friend this Week
I had my RNY on Tuesday, the 16th. I feel much better than I thought I would post op. I'm walking and sleeping and eating a clear liquid diet. I am already so tired of Jello and chicken broth! I can't go to soft food until next Tuesday. This evening, though, I was watching the Food Channel (yeah, yeah, I know) and I suddenly realized I have lost my best friend. I feel so alone. I called my daughter and told her how I feel and all I got was "I don't know what to tell you, Mom". I then called my friend who had this surgery two years ago, and she says she felt the same way. I imagine these feelings are normal. Did any of you feel this way after surgery? Anyway, I will try to stay away from the Food Channel, but I am looking forward to adding some variety to the menu.
Topic: RE: how is your activity level
Wow, sounds like you're doing awesome! I can't wait to get to do those same things! I'm really looking forward to long walks and bike rides with my sister again - I can't keep up with her anymore and they have a great trail near their house. She quit doing it since she doesn't like to go alone, so it will be a great benefit for both of us when I can go again. We're also planning a white-water rafting trip when I can do it because she's gone a few times and loved it and wants me to go with her and I am so excited and really looking forward to it. Neither of our hubbies are into flying down a raging river in a little rubber boat, so it will a really fun just-us-girls trip. I can't have a dog, I'm gone at least 2 weeks every month for my job and hubby doesn't like pets enough to want one without me home more, but my neighbor's black lab practically lives at our house (his people are okay with it because they know we love him, too) and the chunky pup could really use some exercise, so he'll be my walking buddy when I can take him, too. You're very encouraging and the thought of being able to do all this fun stuff again is so darned exciting, I can hardly wait!!!!

Topic: RE: John Pavic surgey, wife thrilled
I'm so happy for John and his wife and the beginning of his new life. I don't know them, but I wish him and his wife both all the best after their terribly long wait. Four years must have seemed like a lifetime. I've only been waiting 10 months and it seems like it's been forever. With the phone being busy all night, sounds like he's got lots of friends. I bet they're so happy to count you as one of them. I just wanted to let you know how nice I think it is that you keep everyone updated on what's going on.

Wow, you sound really upbeat. I had my surgery on the 15th and I am in horrible pain and can't get barely enough water let alone protein. I cannot take pain meds cause it makes me too sick..
