I REALLY WAS A HORMONAL MESS AT MINE AND HAD TO RETURN A FEW DAYS LATER AND WAS BACK TO MY NORMAL SELF BY THEN. THE FIRST VIST SHE ASKED ME THE NORMAL QUESTIONS. WHY I WANTED THE SURGERY AND ABOUT MY LIFE LONG STRUGGLES WITH MY WEIGHT AND FOOD. THEN SHE HAD ME TAKE A MULTIPLE CHOICE TEST. I THOUGH SOME OF THE QUESTIONS WERE FUNNY. DO YOU HATE YOUR FATHER THINGS LIKE THAT AND WATCH OUT FOR THE WORDING OF SOME OF THE QUESTIONS. IT TOOK MINE TWO WEEKS TO TYPE UP THE REPORT AND IT WAS GETTING CLOSE TO MY SUGERY DATE, SO I HAD HER FAX IT TO MY DOCTOR AND I GOT APPROVED LAST WENDSDAY. MY SURGERY IS THIS TUESDAY.WHEW!!!. IN OTHER WORDS DON'T SWEAT IT. YOUR NOT ANY NUTTIER THAN ME. DIANNA

Hi! My surgery date is October 31st too! You're the first person I've found that has the same surgery date. I would like to keep in touch. Can I add you to my friends list?

Topic: New to OH!
Hello, my name is Michelle. I just had rny on October 1st in Syracuse, NY. I am 19 days post-op. My surgery went just fine, except for some minor complications before I left the hospital. Anyway, I would like to start by saying that I have been checking out this site for a couple of days and I am very impressed. People really seem to care here and everything I have read has been really informative. Right now I am struggling with a couple of things. First, I am having a hard time finding high protein foods that I can eat at this stage of the diet. I am a terribly picky eater. The only thing on the list that I actually like is chicken. I have forced myself to try eggs, but I just couldn't do it. My next test will be yogurt. Wish me luck! My other issue is with constipation. It has been 9 days since my last bm. I am not impacted, nor am I in a lot of pain. But, it is getting more uncomfortable by the minute. First, I tried a laxative for women (Wal-Mart brand), and I just sent my husband to get Milk of Magnesia and Colace. Also, I am trying to increase the amount of water I am drinking. If anyone has any advice on either of these subjects I would greatly appreciate any words of wisdom! Thank you so much, in advance!

Don't worry about it. They do it to screen out anyone who may have an eating disorder, underlying depression, or have unrealistic expectations of the surgery. My psych eval was a two session "talk" with the second session having depression screening questions. It's a good thing that they do it.... Deb

I understand what you are feeling. I havent had surgury yet, but I've been thinking about my relationship with food and how it will change. As you start to loose more weight and more weight; your feelings for this "friend" will change because you wont have so mu*****ommon. You will choose your "friends" differently. Just like any relationship, as we get older we end up choosing to have relationships with those who have better values and make better decisions. Happy healthy friends is whats in store for you! ;o)
