Hi, Vernice: Glad to hear you're doing well since your surgery. I talked to you right before my surgery, if you remember. 17 lbs!...what a blessing! I thought I was doing well at 15 lbs. My surgery was 10/16. Keep up the good work. Also, having two new grandbabies is awsome. We love those grandbabies. Now that you've had the surgery you will be much more active and chase them around the yard. Take care.

Donna: I am a little over one week out. I have lost 15 lbs so far! Unbelievable, isn't it?! As far as eating when you're not hungry...after about two bites I don't want anymore, but I try to eat more protein until I feel full. My nurse says if you don't get your protein down, your body will draw from your muscles, so you really need to get enough protein in even if you're not hungry. Take care and good luck to you.

Congratulations Angel!!! I'm so excited for you and happy that you're feeling so well. I was wondering how the ride home would be. My sister bought me a little pillow like my mom had for her heart surgery, so I could hold it to my tummy on the ride home. It helped lessen the driving bumps for my mom's chest for her ride home, so I'm hoping it's the same for the tummy!

Congratulations!!! Better than liquids! My surgery's tomorrow morning, but I'm already bored with liquids from the pre-op liquid diet. Someday soon this will all be worth the boring liquids!! Soft foods are something for me to look forward to!

I happened in on a show called Big Medicine and they were doing a surgery on loosing the excess skin on the tummy and buttocks on a man who has lost over 200 pounds. They removed over 8 pounds from his back and hips and 12+ pounds off his tummy. That was the only surgery they showed of him on this show. They were going to do his chest and arm on a later show. So I think the 30 pounds would be a fair estimate. Congratulations on your loss. That is great.

I'm envious of you. I will be glad when I get my 35 pounds off so I can have my lap band surgery around the first of the year. Good luck on your journey to the loser's bench. I will keep you in my prayers for a safe and uneventful surgery. Let us know how you are doing when you get home.
Topic: Questions Regarding Skin
I had the RNY about two years ago, at 338, 5'9" tall. I'm currently at 162, and wondering if I should lose any more.
My main question is: Should I subtract the "skin" weight from my current weight to get a better idea of how much I "really" weigh?
..and... how much does the skin of the avg person who's lost 170+ weigh?
I.E. Would I say:
I weigh 162
skin is (30)
--------------------------
Actual weight = 132?
Thanks for any information, opinion etc!
