Way to go Hollie! My surgery was on Oct 22, I am down 51 pounds as of this morning! I am a light weight, but I am proving them wrong! They said I would only lose 5 - 10 pounds a month! I began at 228.

Hey Amy,
I was thinking, your surgery was 8 days after mine, you are losing at the same rate as me. When I looked at my weight loss diary, eight days earlier, than yesterday, I was at 44 pounds. So you are not a slow loser after all!
As for the protein, I drink 2 bottles of Isopure a day. I prefer the Blue Raspberry and Passion fruit flavors. They are a clear liquid protein with 40 grams per bottle.
If you can get 1 1/2 - 2 bottles a day, that is equilivant to your daily protein needs.
I also eat my protein (meat) first with each meal. I snack on cheese 3 times a day, and beef sticks or beef jerky type snacks. Also remember that dairy products have protein in them as well.
I am stilling having difficulties getting and keeping some meats down. The Dr. says that the scar tissue on my pouch may have closed the opening a bit too much. If it does not open more in the next week, he will do another EDG to open it up, but since I am losing so well, I would like to leave well enough alone!

Topic: Hey, I'm a newby here....I need some help on food portions
I have a question for anyone out there....when I eat soup I feel like I can eat and eat on this stuff. when I have something like refried beans or anything with a mushy texture I feel like I can eat more than 2 or 3 ounces. My doctor says I should only be eating about 2 to 3 ounces of food 3 times a day. I can eat my 2 ounces of food by it doesn't fill me up where I am full or feel stuffed. I don't feel like I'm eating too much, but know I'm at a plataeu in my weigh loss and need some suggestions on getting it going again. Has anyone else been able to eat more than the 2 to 3 ounces and felt okay? I'm ripping myself apart thinking I'm doing something wrong...I do eat fruits and veggies, chicken, tuna and beans. I'm trying to stay with foods that have some protein in it. Please give me some feedback and let me know what you think!!! I had my RNY on 10/30/07 and I'm down 43 lbs.

I had my surgery on Oct. 30, 2007, and I've lost 43lbs. I kept thinking that I wasn't getting the weight off fast enough, but as I look at some of the posts out there, I think

I had my surgery (RNY) on 10/30/07 and I'm down 43 pounds. I've felt that I've lost at a very slow pace. I'm driving my husband bonkers....What are you doing for you protein? I've tried the protein shakes, but I didn't care for those, so I've found a high protein, low carb shake at Smoothie King that I like real well. The price is a little steep, but I have to have the protein. If you could send any suggestions my way, I would really appreciate it. Good Luck with everything!!

52 lbs i started at 292 on aug 15th with my appt with dog at pre op i was at 282 and since surgery on oct 23rd i am down 52lbs with a weight os 230. i am soo happy.

Forgive me for not posting in a while. The holidays are very busy as you all well know. Anyway, I have not weighed in over a month, so I jumped on the scale this morning, and I have lost 50 pounds! My RNY surgery was October 22.
