Topic: RE: hey everyone!! what have you lost so far???
Hey Kevin, and everyone else! Congrats on your weight loss so far!!! I had surgery on Oct. 9th, at 249 pounds. I'm down 57 pounds so far, which means I'm halfway there. 57 more pounds and I'll be at 135 - my goal! I anticipate it taking longer than the first 57 pounds, but that's fine with me! I feel great! My energy is finally back. Most foods are good now, I just eat small amounts. I can do so much more physically too, I played Dance Dance Revolution with hubby for hours this afternoon. Before, 10 minutes would have me huffing & puffing. What a blessing this surgery has been!

Topic: RE: Stall and the scale?
First let me say that you have lost 48lbs in about 10 weeks....that is AMAZING!!!! Personally I do not weigh daily, the ups and downs would drive me nuts. I weigh once a week, at the same time every day....in the morning after I shower and blow dry my hair...in my birthday suit so there is never a question of are my clothes heavier or not. It also depends on my cycle as to how much I weigh. Also, another thing I do is weigh right before I go to the doctor and then of course when I get there I am weighed and everytime there is a 2lb difference, my scale is more lol, but I know it's different to so I don't freak. Stop stressing, up your water and protien...exercise...and let your surgery work for you. Remember we all have stalls.

Kristy, put the scale away for a few weeks. stalls are normal, your body is trying to catch up with what is going on, you are more the likley losing inches, as long as you are staying on the right track with your eatting, and drinking you water and protien , the scale will move again, just give it some time, take care, Janet

Topic: RE: Is anyone else exhausted?
My stamina came back about 2 weeks ago (about 8-9 weeks o ut). I was so tired I couldn't do anything. My DH does most all the cooking still, or we do it together. I finally have been able to do the laundry and hang the clothes which is a major accomplishment. I missed a lot of time off work doing to ups and downs with feeling sick and tired. The sick is cured thanks to some scrips and getting 45 oz of fluid in a day. I still can't do the 64 oz.

I don't enjoy food anymore, either. As long as you're getting in your protein, that'll help. Someone said that you go from living to eat to eating to live. I finally know what full feels like, and I definitely know what too full feels like! My DH finally has it through his head that I can't eat hamburger anywhere except at home and 97% fat free at least. He's made me sick too many times on hamburger patties...don't care if I see another one. I miss spaghetti and lasagna...maybe further out I can try those. I didn't realize how much of a carb girl I am.

Kristy, weigh yourself the same time every day. In the afternoon, you show 5 pounds heavier. The water retention could be the culprit for the pounds. Since you're on your period (mine are gone forever!) that could explain those pounds. Expect to stall occasionally on your journey. I hit a plateau and didn't lose for 2 weeks, then I weighed the next time and had dropped 5 pounds. It all depends on your body's chemistry. Remember, this too shall pass, and you've given yourself the gift of health. I only weigh at the doc's office so it's the same all the time. Good luck!

Hey Kevin and Everyone else! Some great results you all are experiencing. Congratulations to you all. On 8-29-07 I weighed 299.7 lb. I had surgery on 10-11-07 and went into surgery weighing 272 pounds. Today I weigh 216.6 pounds ...so that's a total weight loss of 83.1 pounds. I'm doing well ... learning how and what to eat all over again. Getting physical and learning how to do that, too. cindy
