Topic: RE: Suggestions for a slow loser?
Hi Rosalind. First of all, I'd say the most important this is to listen to your Dr, he's right! Everyone loses differently, and even though you're losing slower than some of us, you're still losing! Plus, I've always heard the slow losers have an easier time keeping it off!
That said, how many calories do you get a day? I've heard some people that get too few and that can tend to stall you. I doubt that a little rice or pasta is going to be a problem, as long as you're getting in enough protein & fluids. My nut says carbs are fine, as long as I eat protein first, veggies second, and carbs only after that if there's room.
Oh, one other thing. How often do you eat? I know some docs say only 3 meals a day, but mine says 5 - 6. My nut says every 2 - 3 hours we should eat. That helps to keep sugar levels steady, and will keep your metabolism humming.
The real bottom line is: if you're losing, you're doing something right, so just keep the focus on the fact that it's working. Celebrate your successes! Good luck!!!

Topic: Suggestions for a slow loser?
Hey All,
My surgery weight was 261 lbs on Oct 16. I am only down 41 lbs. Which is great! But not for a person who has had surgery. So I am mad.
I exercise about 5 times a week, get in about 60+ grms of protein, about 50+ oz of water. What the hell is the problem. My doc says that it's "ok", "it will come off", my nut doesn't know too much besides putting me "in the box" with the rest. I keep telling her my situation is different.
I don't know what the heck is going on. Iwill admit that I do eat rice or pasta in two meals a week, and I drink cognac twice a month. Not enough not too lose weight!!!
Any suggestions because you guys are doing great!!

Congrats!!! It must be great to be in onederland! I hope to be there soon. I'm at 200.8 this morning. I'm glad that you had a shopping party and got yourself something cute. Isn't it a great feeling to pick out clothes that you actually like rather than just the clothes that kinda fit? Congrats again and I know that there is a lot of hard work involved in making this trasition. Way to Go!

Topic: RE: AM I ALONE??????
I'm losing hair in my hairbrush and in the shower drain, but not big hunks at a time and not so much that anyone can tell. Are you getting in enough protein and taking vitamins? Everybody's body reacts differently to things.
