Topic: 5 month pics
Hello!!! My DH just took my 5-month pics (I hit 5 months yesterday) and I added them to my page. I have to say this journey has been amazing so far! I feel so much better and healthier!! I've been sick for a little while now, but even on my not so good days right now, I feel 110% better than I did before this life-changing surgery! I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Thanks to all that responded to my post. I eat between 4-5 small meals a day. I also have a protein shake or bar on most days along with my vitamins. I assume that it's about 800-1100 calories, but I exercise about 300-400 calories off per day, maybe 5 days a week .
My protein shake are about 250-300 calories by themselves (fruit,l/f yogurt, protein powder). I lost 4lbs in the past few days, so I am about 45lbs total since surgery.
I guess all of you guys are right. I will continue at the pace of "my body" and see you all at the finish line

Topic: RE: Weight lost?
I feel guilty at posting to this one as I have lost 79 pounds since October 18, and 109 since I started my journey. My doc said that I'm at the "high end of normal." Everybody is different.
Look at it this way, the slower you lose it, the better off for your skin. I'm beginning to have some hangly dangly issues with mine. Not bad, but I can tell. Make sure you are drinking lots of water. It helps.

Hi Rosalind - I'm a slow loser, too. 10/1 surgery weight was 270, almost 6 months later and I've only lost 59 lbs. I eat 5-6 meals a day 2-3 hours apart. My protein averages 80g/day, and calories are 800-1000. I try to stay away from heavy carbs, but do have one serving of potatos (no rice or pasta) a week. I don't think it specifically has much to do with what you are or are not eating... it's just a metabolism thing. I'm trying to find a center to get my resting metabolic rate tested so I know exactly how my body processes energy since all the numbers the nuts and surgeons give you are just averages. It's frustrating, but as long as the scale is moving in the right direction I try to keep optimistic. ((((HUGS))))

My nut has me at 74g of protein a day and 80oz of water/fluids, 600-700 calories. I also am supposed to eat have 5-6 times meals a day - 2-3 hours apart, taking 30 minutes to eat meals/snacks, and still taking pencil eraser size bites & chewing thoroughly.
The meal plan she has me on is three meals of 2 oz. protein, 1 oz. veggies, 1 oz. carbs (if still hungry after protein & veggies), plus two snacks such as a cheese stick, a hard-boiled egg, a 6-8 oz. protein drink, a 4-6 oz. container of yogurt.
I hope that helps.
