Hey, WOW I thought I was the only one going through this... Not that I'm happy anyone else is, but I'm glad someone knows how I feel. I am at my 6 mo and I have lost 104lbs. to date. My best friend seems very angry all the time, we were supposed to go thru this together, but she changed her mind at the last minute. Now I'm getting thin and she is still over 300lbs. I am actually feeling guilty about losing my weight.

Hey Sarah!!
I have had the same reaction from friends and family....I have 2 sisters that don't even talk to me hardly since the surgery...only when they want the clothes I don't fit into anymore.....I have also noticed changes with my sister in law's friends too....she has wls in June 07 and has lost 130lbs....friends of hers didn't ever want to do anything with her before the surgery and now they want her to go out all the time...I feel if I wasn't good enough to go when I was overweight, what changes things now? I can't believe how people change when something as wonderful as this surgery has done for us, why they can't be happy for us??? I say they can just get over it!!! Be happy with who you've become and enjoy life to the fullest!! You are beautiful and no one can ever change you!!

I know how you feel. I've lost most of my friends due to my weight loss and I think its silly. I never judged them by there weight, so why should I be. Its a jealousy thing and I just learn to ignore it. Im hot noe so get over it. my mom is a lil like it too. We are in the same size now and I still have 54lbs to go. Its killin her that im gonna pass her. You think, dont you want me to be healthy? Oh well, I didnt do it for anybody else so they're not going to bring me down. Keep your head up.

I am 6 months post op and have lost 102 pounds (Thanks to God) I am finding that close family and friends (not all) are so mad and don't really want to talk or hang out. Some have started to diet and always find they want to compete. Lot's of strange changes. I don't rub it in or talk about my weight loss I am very careful of that unless someone asks. So is this going on with any of you??
