FINALLY! I postponed my 8/13 surgery in order to get the new AP Lap Band and finally the hospital will have some in late next week! I will be flying to NY in mid Oct, so the best time for me is the 22!
Now, If I do not have to go to NY, then I will try and bump my date up!
OCT 22 - gives me time to hit the gym and trade some fat for muscle.

Topic: It only took 1 week to get a date
I was estatic when I called to today and got approval. They recv'd the paperwork on Sept 7th and approved it today. Called the Drs office and told them of my approval and they gave me a date of Oct 11th. Its all happening so fast I could hardly believe it.

My surgery is the same day. I have my pre-op on Oct 2. I am a little afraid, as it is major surgery and it is a life changing event. I have read some posts from people *****gretted their decision, but most of all I read about good things, especially at the message forum from my surgeon. Before the surgery, my surgeon just has us eat normal, then 4-7 days (depending on your starting weight) my surgeon has us do a liquid diet and bowel prep and a day of antibiotics the day before surgery. I'm ready for all of it, but I'm sure as the date creeps closer and closer I'll start getting more nervous. Just keep in mind the reason you are doing this. And congratulations on your date.

My name is Lisa, from Tewksbury - got my surgery date set for October 22nd @ Winchester wtih Dr Ameri whom I adore - he makes me feel SOOOOO at ease about this - my husband and kids will tahnk him for helping there Momma be HEALTHY again

I start my required Optifast on Monday the 17th. Yuk! My Dr. wanted me to lose 18lbs before surgery and I have lost as of yesterday a total of 50lbs!!!! You would think he would let me skip this part but NOOOOO... of course I have to buy this stuff from him (300.00) out of my pocket as insurance does not cover oh well that will not stop me as I can hardly wait to have a new "Me"
