My aetna paperwork was submitted for a revision on 9/04/07 and I received approval on 9/18/07. I am being revised from a vbg to a rout n y gastric bypass. I am still shocked it went so quickly.

After numerous months of testing and appeals with my insurance company, I was denied coverage. Not about to have any insurnace company dictate my furture, decided to go self-pay....FULL STEAM AHEAD...TO START MY NEW LIFE! After all, they say 50 in the new 40! So look out world, here I come...Terri B.

I'm interested in knowing if anyone with Aetna insurance has any information for me on how difficult it will be to get approved for a revision to my gastric bypass. My bmi is not quite 40 but see a doctor the 5th of October to see if he can help me. Thanks for any information you can supply me with. Micwest

Hey! well unfortunately i cannot offer you any advice because my surgery date is the same as yours! but this is one thing i'm also concerned about. one thing i just keep remembering is that if i can control myself for the 12 days i need to do this "diet" it will make my surgery safer, which means more to me then food. I also work (and go to school full time) so i know it's easier said then done, but i'll just remember i'm thinking long term, and i hope you do too! good luck and feel free to email me! congrats on your dates!
