Hello, my name is Sonia and just wanted to say I will be having my surgery on October 2!!. I pre-registered today!! I will try to be on a liquid diet starting today, my physician said it would really help him see better. I am excited and very optimistic. I have been a member to this site for a while and really like how someone is always there to provide support.
I met two other ladies today at the doctor's office, whom will be having surgery next week as well. It's great to know others in my area will be going thru the same thing and provide support for one another (we all exchanged numbers) If anyone has any advice for me, please do so.

Hi Brandi,
I don't have to go on a liquid diet before my surgery. All I was told was to not drink or eat anything after 9pm the night before. I guess every doctor is different. I'll probably take it easy on the food the day before anyway. It's great you enjoy working out so much it will really help you recover quicker. Good Luck!

Hello! My name is Brandi and I am also having my surgery on the 15th. I am 29 years old, 280lbs and a mother of 2. I am having laproscopic RNY thru Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth VA. I love to work out and am a member of our local YMCA. I enjoy step aerobics, spinning and kickboxing classes. Definitely looking forward to my surgery date but also getting apprehensive since I've never had surgery before in my life. When do you start your pre-op liquid diet? Have you been to a pre-op teaching yet? Mine is scheduled for the 9th (seems like years away).

I got the call yesterday from Kaiser. My surgery has been scheduled for october 30th. PreOp October 25. I am nervous and very stressed. My husband keeps reminding me that this is what I have been working so hard for and it's finally here...(well, almost). It's the day before my birthday (happy birthday to me?) and I'm really struggling with the thought of not going trick-or-treating with my son....life goes on I suppose...
Just very nervous....

11 years....wow! You must really be excited. That is a very long wait and I complained about 4 months....lol Good luck with your surgery.
