Topic: Still waiting on approval from Triwest
Hi all,
I'm a newbie. I am scheduled for WLS on 10/25/2007. I had been thinking about it for months and finally may up my mind to do it. I was so motivated and ready to go, then Triwest. My original paperwork was submitted on 9/18/2007. TriWest said they did not have enough documentation on medication I was taking for Diabetes and Hypertension. My Provider needed to submitted the requested information by 9/30/2007, which he did 9/27/2007. Low and behold TriWest cancelled the first pre-authorization request because they said it was not submitted in time. A new request was opened on 9/27/2007 and it is pending medical necessity. I don't know if this is normal or not so can someone help. I'm really afraid I will be denied since I have not taken my medication in 2 years. Does that make a difference! I stop taking the medication on my own not because my doctor said to stop. I'm really funny when it comes to taking medication long term.
Topic: I was approved and the next day..surgery date was scheduled!
I had to have a friend show me how to use this area effectively. I am truly computer stupid sometimes. My surgery date is scheduled for October 15th. I am truly excited and definitely scared at the same time! I am a single woman with a 14 year old son. Together, we will make it through this and I will be successful. But I can't help but have, what looks like, the same feelings that ALOT of WLS folks have. I can't imagine what I will be like the night before I leave for the hospital. Is there a positive way to deal with the nerves?
Topic: Anyone in SC who has DR. Byrne - Can U Answer this for me?
I am four weeks out and I am noticing a wide range of restrictions and allowances from so many doctors and nutritionists from all over.
If you have Dr. Byrne or MUSC patient, do you know how long I should wait from when I DRINK something until I can eat?
I have been told by one NUT at MUSC to wait one hour from the time I eat until I can drink, and told by the other NUT at MUSC a half-hour. Hmmmm.
My question is reversed. If I have a glass of water, how long until I can eat?
Thanks lap-banders!
