AM I ALONE??????

I HAD MY SURGERY OCT.19.2007 i HAVE LOST 88 POUNDS---(THANKS TO GOD!) HOWEVER I HAD TO GET OVER 5 INCH'S OF MY HAIR CUT OFF DUE TO HAND FULLS DURING EVERY SHOWER. I AM LOSING HAIR FASTER THEN WEIGHT. IM SO SCARED I DON'T WANT TO PANIC--- IS ANYONE ELES HAVING THIS HAPPEN??? PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I AM SO TIRED OF CRYING AND FEELING UGLY. THANK YOU. SARAH

Sarah you are not alone, I just had my hair cut too and my bed in the morning has alot of hair in it still, I have heard that it does slow down and will regrow, just make sure you are keeping up with your protien and they say that helps, You are doing great with you weight lost too Take care Janet

I had the lapband done on Oct 31st I have lost 63lbs and have had no hair loss yet. Dont know if there is a difference b/c of the type of surgeries.

I have lost a LOT of hair!!!! I had to get 7 inches cut off, because the falling hair was everywhere... it still is. C'est la vie. It is what it is. I'm just happy to be down 67 lbs... the hair loss is small price to pay!

You are not alone...I kept thinking I could handle it, it was a small price to pay to once and for all be losing the weight, but now that its coming out in fistfuls, I'm not at all okay with it! I haven't gotten the courage to cut it off yet, but I think that day is coming soon..... My DH has tried to cheer me about about it. The latest was this morning while getting ready for work: Me: brushing hair in bathroom Him: so have you weighed yourself this morning? Me: not yet. after i do my hair and brush my teeth Him: oh...so what, you expect to lose another pound with all the hair that you're brushing out.... ~jenny

I'm losing a lot of hair too - it's scary and frustrating! I've started taking biotin, making sure I get my protein, and using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner in hopes that something, or the combination will help! Just remember - you are beautiful and the hair grows back! Laurie
