Hey Annette, I am Angel, my RNY surgery was October 22. According to my surgeons instructions, 50-75 grams of protein per day. I have found Isopure at the local vitamin/health food store. It is a clear protein, I like passion fruit and blue raspberry, but they have many flavors. I don't have any problem getting down 1 - 1 1/2 bottles, sipping it all day. I also use it instead of water to mix up my sugar free jello, that really makes it easy to get in my required protein! Let me know if you have other questions. I am a week ahead of you so, I may have experienced anything you may be facing. Blessings, Angel

Annette, My Doc recommended 70 grams a day. Did yours give you a guideline? I was OK with the taste of Isopure pre-op, but after I had my Lap RNY on 10/9, I couldn't tolerate it anymore, so I know what you're saying. It's really a matter of trial and error to find what your new pouch will tolerate. My easiest go-to for protein was the bullets. If you don't want to buy a case online right away, check with GNC or the Vitamin Shoppe. They both stock them. They don't taste fabulous or anything, but they're only 3 ounces, so you can quickly get 25 grams in. There are also 42gram bullets, but my pouch didn't like those either. (also, you can't absorb 42 grams of protein at once anyway.) I've also heard a lot of people mix the bullets with about 8 ozs of crystal light. You can also try the Unjury chicken broth flavored mix. I think they only sell online: https://www.unjury.com/ssl/purchasing.php I liked the taste, but again, the pouch did not like it. But maybe your pouch will. Just keep trying things, the protein is so important to help you heal. Good luck! Deb

I just can't seem to get enough of the Isopure down...I tried it in the jello...and all I got from that was... jiggly isopure....What are bullets? I just can't wait until Wendesday when I can go full liquid...I have plenty more protein options then!!

annette try the bullets, i found mine on the internet, my dr suggested them for the protein from the start. they come in flavors too. here is the site, will deliver them to your home as well. they come 40 grams of liquid protein, taste like jello before it hardens. http://www.bariatriceating.com hugs,

I tried the bullets and didn't like them at all because they were too thick and sweet. But then someone suggested I mix them in my water. So, now I mix the 3 oz. bullet and 5 oz. water and I really like them. Plus, I'm getting 27 g of protein in my hourly 8 oz of fluids. I get the Isopure drinks at GNC - so far I've tried them all except the Apple Melon and Icy Orange. My favs are Mango Peach and Blue Raspberry. My nuts guidelines are 8 oz. of fluid each hour, so it takes me a while to get the whole bottle down, but it's 40 g of protein total, so I make it happen. I can pretty much drink all the other flavors by adding some crushed ice and let them water down a little. I also drink Special K Protein water - lemon flavor. Tastes to me just like real lemonade. It has 5 g of protein and I typically only drink one 8 oz. serving of the 16-oz bottle because of the sugars in the whole 16 oz.

I am now on full liquid...so for now I have washed my hands of those protein serums..yuck. I've been able to have a chocolate shake and make a pudding it as well with HMR... and I use unjury unflavored to add to my cream soups...So I am so thrilled...And never thought I'd be so flippin happy over Farina!!!! 1 week down another to go before real food..woohoo!!
