I got my surgery date oct 31 at 900 am anyone having a hard time to not eat before surgery date my surgeon said I couldnt due to making sure the liver shrinks how true is this my pcp looked at me like I was crazy when he asked me what was I eating and I told him only liquids and he asked why and I told him it was to shrink my liver he looked dumb founded lol

My surgery is Oct. 31st too. I have been on an all liquid diet for almost 2 weeks.

it's true, weight loss (particularly fluid loss) will help your liver to shrink a bit, which will help minimize problems when your liver is retracted during the surgery... my surgery is tomorrow, and i'm fighting with the clear liquids diet today too! so far it's the sugar free popsicles that are keeping me sane
