I need a CPAP...
I recently went to my long awaited surgical consult with Dr Shin in Charleston, WV. I've been dieting for 8 months and have lost 40#'s! I am still waiting on insurance approval, but Dr Shin says I've completed all of the necessary steps and approval shouldnt be a problem...
He said I should be in surgery by the end of October or beginning of November...
My only obsticle is Dr Shin insists that I get a CPAP for my sleep apnea. I was diagnosed in May and tried a machine for a month. I didnt adjust well to it and my insurnace wouldnt pay for the CPAP so I had to return it. Now, to get another machine, I have to get scheduled for 2 more sleep studies (ugh) and then wait for insurance approval and the machine company to contact me and get one to me...last time the process took over 2 months...
I need a CPAP...does anyone have any ideas for me to get one without all the waiting?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Crystal
I can indeed buy a CPAP myself, but the cost is prohibitive. A CPAP costs over $1000! I checked on a used machine and it was still about $500. I can not afford that. I will probably only need the machine for a short time anyway, so there's no way I could justify borrowing money to buy something I wont have to use but for a month.
check out ebay.....there isn't alot of them, but a few, approx $200....... jeez I paid $1600 for mine!!!

don't be afraid if they are preprogrammed with a setting other than your recommended wiht. They are easy to change. Good Luck!! If I had surgery already, I'd sell you mine!! But I may need it to appease the doc!! Good luck!
