Still waiting on approval from Triwest

Hi all, I'm a newbie. I am scheduled for WLS on 10/25/2007. I had been thinking about it for months and finally may up my mind to do it. I was so motivated and ready to go, then Triwest. My original paperwork was submitted on 9/18/2007. TriWest said they did not have enough documentation on medication I was taking for Diabetes and Hypertension. My Provider needed to submitted the requested information by 9/30/2007, which he did 9/27/2007. Low and behold TriWest cancelled the first pre-authorization request because they said it was not submitted in time. A new request was opened on 9/27/2007 and it is pending medical necessity. I don't know if this is normal or not so can someone help. I'm really afraid I will be denied since I have not taken my medication in 2 years. Does that make a difference! I stop taking the medication on my own not because my doctor said to stop. I'm really funny when it comes to taking medication long term.
