Sounds yummy, Lauri. Might have to get the ingredients to give that a try next week. I've never cooked with curry before, but it sounds great. Congrats on your tremendous weight loss. You should be so proud. Hugs, Tabby

First of all, Thank you!!! Thank you!!!! Thank you!!!! to all of you who gave me a pep talk last week! It was very much appreciated!!!! I went to my appointment yesterday thinking I had probably gained a couple of pounds....Imagine my surprise when I stepped on the scale and I had actually LOST 4 POUNDS!!!!!!! I know I was definitely having a plateau for the last couple of months, but probably during all of my worrying, I lost 4 pounds..... I have officially lost 130 pounds since I began this journey April 2006.....100 of those have been lost since surgery a year ago!!!! I knew I could come to my October sisters for a pep talk and as I said, I appreciate it more than you will ever know!!!! Life is WONDERFUL!! Hugs, Holly

This is a new one I tried yesterday. I found it on Recipe Resource. 1 tsp. curry 1 lg. delicious apple cored, peeled and chopped 1 lg. yellow onion 1 tbsp. lemon juice 4 oz. mushrooms sliced 1 tsp. chicken bouillon 2 C apple juice 3 1/2 pounds skinned chicken thighs 1 tbsp. flour Place curry powder in a wide frying pan and stir over med. heat until slightly darker, about 3-4 min. Add apples, yellow onion, lemon juice, mushrooms, bouillon, and 1/2 cups apple juice. Bring to a boil. Rinse chicken and add to pan. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until meat near bone is no longer pink, about 30 min. Remove chicken and keep warm. Blend flour and 1/2 cup apple juice. Gradually add to pan. Increase heat to high, and stir until thickened. Pour over chicken. I added 1/2 of a yellow pepper, because I needed to use it up. I also added about a tsp. of chopped fresh rosemary. I love rosemary on chicken. Its pretty good. A little something different. Lauri WLS Oct23 06' Down 232lbs.

BE-U-TI-FUL! Oh my gosh Michelle, you look fantastic! Have you read your profile, so inspiring. I know myself, some days I have been so overwhelmed at the amount of weight I had to lose. It was reading profiles like yours that kept me motivated! Starting at a weight of 420 pounds, it was a daunting task at best. Finally I am in a number I can accept, but am trying to lose still. But, If I never lost another pound, I feel successful. I want more....more....more! LOL I want to see what it feels like to be a "normal" BMI. I have never had that my whole entire life! Thankyou for sharing your pics and profile! Lauri WLS Oct23 06' Down 232lbs.

Topic: RE: Questioning my NUT.......
I am amzed that all the NUTs sound pretty similar. Mine dont give out exact numbers either. I think they purposely do this, because people tend to get a little nutty, and focus so much on the numbers. I think they are trying to teach us to be "normal" whatever that is. Normally people dont obessess over numbers! LOL Everyone has given great advice! Stick with the basics.....we all know what those are. It will come! Everyone loses at a different rate. I would suggest you up your exercise some. When I hired my personal trainer, I did so, because I had been stalled. The first thing she did was up my cardio time. Lauri WLS Oct23 06' Down 232 lbs.

Topic: RE: Questioning my NUT.......
The no eating after dinner is not really a hard one for me, the hard thing is the timing of dinner...because I have a "second job" (teaching piano) right after work...and most evenings go to the gym after that, my "dinner" may not be until 9 at night...at that point, I force myself to stay awake an hour or so longer than usual to give my body a chance to metabolize the late dinner. I have always had late dinners. Hasnt stopped me from losing. But I did want to touch on the exercise/late dinner thing here. If you are exercsing in the evening before dinner, the calorie burn you experience from the exercsie, will last way longer than the dinner you just ate. My spin instructor uses a lot of resistance during class. She said by engaging large muscle groups, the calorie burn can last as long as 4 hours! I am worried about what I will do during winter....when the outdoor activites will not be as available. I have been trying new classes in the evenings just to prepare for winter. There is a cardio class and step aerobics class I love. But like you, I spend my evening time in some outdoor actvity, walking, biking etc. The days are growing shorter, and after this Indian summer, Im sure colder. I was worried abot getting my exercise fix in, in the evenings. Branch out a little....you might stumble on something that will be perfect! Lauri WLS Oct23 06' Down 232 lbs.

Holly, I was at a stall for the last month also. Its your bodies natural inclination at this point in time (I think). So hey, the honeymoon may be over, but we still know what to do! Funny, how could I have dropped nearly 2 sizes, and still weigh the same? The weights got show off pretty soon. Hang in there, it will come honey! Lauri WLS Oct23 06' Down 232 lbs

Good luck Felicia! You can do it girlfriend! I have been in a stall for the last month, and have been pushing the exercise religiously. Finally, I lost 2 pounds today! I wanted to be as low as I can get before my yearly visit next week. (thats kind of funny, yearly visit USED to mean a trip to the GYN LOL). Im right there with ya, back to basics it is! Good luck!
