Topic: I am here!
In answer to Holly's question.......I am here (as much as I can be.....). I have been very busy at work lately, which keeps me away from OH more than I would like. Todd and I had a WONDERFUL vacation on St. Pete Beach in Florida from the 18th to the 25th. I finally got the pictures up on my profile. Check out the bridge that we WALKED across in 90 degree heat with 85% humidity! Not only did we cross that 1/2 mile bridge with no problem, but we walked another 5-6 miles that day alone! Todd kept asking me, "Are you sure? Are you all right?" and I just laughed with the excitment of being ABLE to walk with him. I was asking him if HE was OK!!!! Before WLS, I would have preferred to sit in the air conditioned hotel reading a book. My, what a difference a year makes! Speaking of that, I have been too busy to sneak on here and post my 1 year reveiw, but I will get to it as soon as I can. Let's just say that I have no regrets, even though I am still "obese" on the BMI chart and have not lost all that I'd hoped to lose. The doctor and nutritionist say that I am doing everything correctly and to be patient, so I will. I really don't have a choice now, do I? Since they are the experts, I will trust them and hope that the rest of the weight comes off eventually. I do hope you are all doing fine and enjoying the new life that we've chosen for ourselves. Everyone, keep up the good work! Dawn

I pray fro you and your family. It is so hard to lose someone so beloved. It sounds like she is at peace and that must be comforting. Big hugs sweetie!

Dear friends, A couple of months ago, my grandmother, Dorthy Gricks, was diagnosed with bone marrow disease. They immediately started her on chemotherapy (through pills) which depleted her immune system. She then came down with pnemonia and ended up in the hospital for three weeks, which caused bedsores. They tried to take her home for a few days, but she fell and ended up back in the hospital for another week. She was then transferred to Transistional Care where it was discovered that she also had the MRSA Staph Infection that seems to be making the news a lot these days. She is back in the hospital and yesterday, her doctors informed our family yesterday that they are estimating that she will only live for approximatedly 48 hours....we have family traveling from Harrisburg and Cincinnatti to be here. Grandma was aware of her surroundings yesterday, she knew when we are there and when we would leave...she would wave....she nodded her head when we told her that we loved her....she opened her eyes and looked directly at you....she was unable to speak because her throat was so sore from the oygen that they are giving her, so it was frustrating to her and to us when she tried to tell us something. Yesterday morning, she wrote a note to mom and said she wanted to go home now, she was ready to die and God wants her in heaven. So, I truly believe she knows her time with us is limited but that she is ready to go. My mom just called me a minute ago and said Grandma is not longer trying to talk....no longer recognizes anyone...So, please pray for peace for our family....I know we don't want her to go, but she's ready.... Topic: Update!
The doctors removed the foley catheter from N yesterday. They are allowing her more activity. She can walk to the bathroom down the hall. They expect to move her from CCU today to a regular room. That suggests her immenent life threatening condition has improved. I am feeling confident enough to stay home from the hospital today so I can take care of mundane things like groceries and bills. Thank you everyone. Your prayers are working!

Hi everyone! I enjoyed reading the updates on your lives. I've been busy too. My last child at home is a senior, so the year has been hectic and busy and wonderful. My work is overwhelming, but I'm learning to set limits and boundaries. I'm having some difficulties with a personal relationship, and that has been a worry as well. Still, here we are one year later. I am down 110 pounds and within 6 pounds of goal. What a great year!

I'm here, I'm here. LIfe is getting crazy busy! School for the kid has been busy and trying to help her get organized and keep her grades up. Then work is crazy, hubby's work is crazy, life is just so crazy. On top of all of that, we lost our dog almost 3 weeks ago now. Of course we missed her but missed just having a 4-legged friend in the house. So, we went out and got a new puppy, 8 weeks old, who doesn't sleep through the night. So life has been crazy. I am still stuck at 214. I have 15 to lose to be in wonderland, and as of now, it looks like it's going to be a long time before I get there. I am not losing, but I am maintianing. I have to change up my routine a bit. Hello to everyone out there. Feels like life is keeping us all so busy, we forget to check in Molly
