Wow, it has been a long "silence" between posts. I join the group that has been checking in waiting for Tabby to post her post PS update. I hope all is well. I too get the "are you eating THAT?" questions from my family. In my case I'm pleased about it though. At first, right after surgery they would comment about the fact that I couldn't eat such and such and had to stick to such a bland (in their opinion) boring diet. They used this as a good excuse as to why someone should NOT go through WLS. Now that I am thinner, healthier and free from the torment of constant dieting. I make GOOD choices...but still eat normal foods just in smaller quanities and emphasis on the proteints etc. They now see that my life is not a contant one of restriction and they now see that there is a positive outcome to my sugery. Has the scale moved for me lately? No not really. However, I am still dropping sizes, so something is changing. If I stopped losing today, would I be happy? You BET! The focus remains on following the lifestyle and making good choices. If the scale continues to move (I have about 20lbs to go to meet my goal)...25 to go to make "normal" on the BMI index. I've not been posting much lately as things have picked up at work, and at home life is hectic. Our house is on the market and we had open houses the first 1/2 of this week. We have showings scheduled every day for the remainder of the week. This means my hours at home are spent cooking etc. and then working to erase any trace that any form of living went on in the home. Dust busting / scouring / decenting...lint brushing (we have a dog) etc. I know the housing market is slow (for the seller) right now, but I am praying this phase is over with soon as I don't know how long I can keep the clutter free, immaculate living lifestyle going. You flyladies would be proud, my sink has never sparkled this much.

Topic: PS Consult
I had my PS Consult on Monday afternoon. It went very well....his nurse thought he would want me to be at a stable weight for a few more months, but he said no, since you have lost just a few pounds since August, I think you are ready. He said he didn't think my insurance would cover the "girls" but he was pretty sure they would cover my tummy. He said he would do everything he could to get them to cover both. He dictated a letter to my insurance company right in front of me...his nurse took some pics...(that was kind of embarassing!) and now it's just a waiting game from my insurance company....they said it could take 6-8 weeks....so the waiting begins! Hope you are doing well. My brother and his wife had a healthy baby boy last Thursday....Loghan Thomas weighed in at 8 lbs. 8 oz and is 19 3/4 inches long. Aunt Holly is heading to Harrisburg this weekend to meet him for the first time!

Glad to hear from you! It's great that you're busy living life. I think that is where most of us are finding ourselves now and why the board has been so quiet. My NUT is great! No complaints there. I passed a milestone today. My surgeon told me at 175 I was finished losing and should consider myself at goal. My nut told me the same thing when I hit 170. I wanted to get to 166 to make it an even 100 pounds lost. But then after my PS, I lost to 160! I was happy with that...until this morning when I weighed in at 158! OMG! That is less than I weighed in high school! Color me tickled PINK! Annette

Topic: Been away too long...
Hi guys! I have been away far too long simply living my life. I miss you guys and am trying to catch up with all of the recent posts. I gather from a few of them that many of us have issues with our Nuts...mine is simply hopeless. She focuses on the stupidest things and seems incapable of answering the questions that are important to me. . . . At 1 yr out how much protein should I strive for each day? How much water is adequate? Ugh. I have learned more about nutrition from my sister who is an ANIMAL Science major at Uconn than I have from my Nut. I've given up on her... To fill you in a little on me since my last visit to the boards, I passed my Surgiversary on 10/27/07 and couldn't be happier. I've lost 171 lbs and am officially at my surgeons Goal. Problem is that his goal is nowhere good enough for me. I'm still 218 lbs and at 5'6" still classified as obese. MY goal is to get down to 180lbs. Thats the lowest weight I ever remember being. BMI charts say I should be between 140 and 150 but I'm not aiming for that. I think I'd look skeletal at that weight...we shall see. I wanted to say Happy Surgiversary to all of my fellow October 2006 board members. Hope your re-birthday was spectacular!!!
