Topic: BAD MORNING...
Hi,
It's only Monday and its going to be a bad week...lots of personal stuff going on....not sure what to do.....so far the stress hasnt gotten to me too bad.....
Topic: I can stop whining now!
I know, I know........it seems like I have been whining FOREVER (since August) about the fact that my weight loss stopped.
Well, the scale still hasn't really moved (except for up 3 down 2-3), BUT.........in addition to the stationary bike I added in work with resistance tubing and have lost a total of 8 INCHES over all in 5 weeks!!!!!!!! I haven't lost that many inches in that short of time since the very beginning! My arm flaps are 2 inches smaller!!!!!! So are my hips!!!!!
I even got into my first-ever-in-my-lifetime Levi's Button Fly jeans!!!!!!!
I STILL dislike getting up at 4 am (esspecially on these FRIGID Medwestern mornings), but I just DO IT. (I feel like a Nike commercial.) The workout itself is not really that bad----I read while I pedal and watch whatever movie/show is on TNT at that hour. (I saw "When Harry Met Sally" this morning, and have seen the X-Files, and Law & Order........)
The scale even went to a low of 161 this morning, so maybe the losing will begin again? (I almost think that is too much to hope for.....)
My point is that exercise DOES help and it does not have to be horrible. Once I get going, it is rather easy and the 45 mins-1 hour (gasp!!!!!) goes quickly and I feel better the rest of the day. The other point is that for those of us that are "slow losers" there IS hope, and I wanted to share that hope with you.
Have a lovely day all,
Dawn
Topic: RE: Neuropathy...
Dear Tiffany:
Yes, you can get a B-12 shot, and also take it sublinguily (under the tongue). I take one in the morning and one at night, 1000 mcg each and my 1 year blood work showed by B-12 off the charts at above 2000. They just disolve under your tounge and taste like cherry. They are rather inexpensive and can be purchased at Wal-Mart. Just MAKE SURE to buy the SUBLINGUAL.
Please let us know what the doctor has to say.

I take a b12 shot every week as well as the sub ling. 2x's a day plus the bariatric multi vit with the b's! I to have neuropathy! It runs in my family I am told! But I never had issues before! I can tell ya since I started the shots it has helped tremendously! I also have dysphonia/dystonia which is a neurological issue too! The b12 seem to help that also. When it gets bad I have to do botox injections in the vocal cords! Not fun! So I welcome the shots and any relief the give! Good Luck to Ya!
Topic: Under the knife...AGAIN!
This is getting really old!
This all began with a procedure with a new gyne that went badly back at the end of August and I've had pain and problems ever since...two e.r. visits...another new gyne...urologist...2 ct scans...2 ultrasounds...7 courses of antibiotics...and pain and pain and pain!
Eventually, they thought it was a big kidney stone lodged in the tube from my left kidney. I went to have it removed last Tuesday and he didn't find a stone...he did find that I have two of those tubes coming from the one kidney, which, I understand is pretty weird. Cool.
I was in loads of pain and demanding a resolution to the problem, so they admitted me and I was there till Thursday. They had a surgeon see me and he believes there's inflammation in a lymph node in the area. He's taking it out tomorrow.
Hoping like heck that this is the end of the problem. It's wearing me out. Plus, I'm hurting more now and so not getting enough exercise and so not losing weight and not feeling as good as I should! Plus, I've missed too much time from work over this, missed support group meetings, missed social occasions...it's affecting my mood as well and I've really had to fight to stay positive...most days I'm managing, but sometimes...sigh...
Anyhow...send good vibes my way, please!

Topic: Neuropathy...
My Doc has diagnosed me with Neuropathy.. 3 different kinds. this is the one I have..
WEB MD - Polyneuropathy accounts for the greatest number of peripheral neuropathy cases. It occurs when many peripheral nerves throughout the body malfunction at the same time. Polyneuropathy can have a wide variety of causes, including exposure to certain toxins, poor nutrition (particularly vitamin B deficiency), and complications from diseases such as cancer or kidney failure.
She thinks that I have an issue with my B vits.. So she took blood to check it.. Gave me this med that makes me feel weird.. Tongue is still numb, but no acid crazy taste today. I hope maybe we can fix it..
I wonder if you can get Vit B in a shot??
Well I will let you know what she says about my blood work when i hear from her.
Hope all is well...
Love,
Tiff
