Hey Donna- Thanks for asking about the baby and N. Things are moving along very well for the baby. He was moved last week to a pediatric hopsital Since he has been there he has gained several ounces. I like to think it is because he is receiving TLC as well as medical care now. These are very loving and tender care givers. They are not so antiscpetic as they were at the hospital. They are encouraging about handling the baby and doing as much for him as possible. N is still having some issues. They increased her lasik (sp) as she was retaining fluid once again. She may have to be readmitted if the fluid buildup doesn't diminish. I can forsee that it is going to be touch and go over the next several months. I still eat a lot of soups and stews. They are easier for me. I do cheat, but usually only a bite. More than that and I will dump. I think I live off of cheese. I could eat cheese constantly. Those little babybel cheeses are perfect for lunch or a snack.

I hope you're feeling better than you were, Tiff. Your crisis really does seem to be the norm for a year or so post-op. Good for you for taking control again. One thing I do is never tell myself that I will never eat such&such again. For me, that is just setting myself up for trouble. I have not had non-SF candy since surgery, but even before surgery, I wouldn't tell myself I'd never have chocolate again...just wouldn't have it for a long while...but would when I chose to. It's all a mind-game, I know, but it works for me! Let us know how you're doing. Lisa

"UNFORTUNETLY THERE'S NO SUPPORT GROUP AROUND HERE. THE NEAREST ONE IS ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY." Is it impossible to get to? I live in a very big city and am reliant on public transit. Basically, everything I want to do ends up being an hour away! For the good I get from support groups, it's worth the trip.

Thanks, Donna! I hope my own plane experience is equal to yours. How was the cruise? Alaska is a dream destination of mine. Part of me wishes I could just leave the pouch at home for a few days...

Hey lisa, hope you have a wonderful time in the big easy, I hear it's a fun, fantastic place to visit. Flying? I had the same feelings every time I got into an airplane. Well, that feeling went away w/ the last flight I took. We flew to seattle washington for a cruise to alaska in October and what a suprise I had when I got onto the plane. Where once I had to walk side ways down the isle I walked down the isle like a "normal person." seating was not a problem at all. I could actually sit it the seat with out worring if I was infringing on the person sitting next to me. I didn't have to ask for a seat belt extender and I actually had room between my stomach and the tray table. What a difference from 2006. I still feel like I shouldn't fit, but I know I actually do, amazing. Thank God for my surgeon and this surgery. I just hope I don't sabatoge myself w/ all the strange eating I'm doing. Donna, sfy

Hey aime, so good to hear from you. How is your daughter in law and the baby doing? We haven't heard any thing for so long, either that or I've missed your postings. I'm assuming the baby is still in the nicu, correct? And how's your dil's cardiac status? Better I hope after delivering. I find it so strange that all of us seem to have the same reactions. Some days we can eat alot and other days not feel like eating at all. I wonder what gives. So, tell me what you eat for different meals, what do you snack on? Do you cheat at times, and if you do, how guilty do you feel. Thanks for you participation. Donna, sfy

HEY LISA, THANKS FOR REPLYING TO MY POST. AS I SIT HERE IT'S ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE DAYS WHERE I'M ALWAYS HUNGERY. NOTHING SEEMS TO FILL ME UP OR SATISFY ME. I CAN'T FIQURE IT OUT, MAKES ME . IT DOESN'T HELP THAT I'M OFF FOR FIVE DAYS ,AND THAT IT'S REALLY NASTY OUT; COLD AND DRIZZLY SO I'M NOT UP TO WALKING. I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM W/ THE COOKING PORTION OF OUR JOURNEY, IT'S THE LITTLE HEALTHY SNACKS WE'RE SUPPOSED TO EAT IN BETWEEN THAT'S GETTING TO ME. SOME DAYS I DO REALLY GOOD OTHER'S, NOT SO GOOD. FOR INSTANCE TODAY'S SNACKS? ARE YOU READY? DARK CHOCOLATE M&M's AND CHEDDAR WHOLE GRAIN SUN CHIPS. CAN YOU SAY SABATAGING MYSELF? I DON'T KNOW WHY I'M DOING THIS W/ THE EXCEPTION OF BORDEM. UNFORTUNETLY THERE'S NO SUPPORT GROUP AROUND HERE. THE NEAREST ONE IS ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HEALTHY SNACKS WOULD BE GREAT. HOPE YOU ENJOY THE BIG EASY AND LET US KNOW ALL ABOUT IT. DONNA, SFY

I stalled back in the summer also. I know I am still losing inches, but I want to see fewer lbs on that scale as well.

I must admit I never really measured anything. I just would eyeball it. Maybe I need to start measuring now. Some days it seems like I can eat anything while others I just can't eat. I have been so busy running for my son, my dil, and the baby that I rarely have the energy to post much. I still read every couple fo days.
